When do your sims children usually move out of their parents house?In my case, it's usually as a teenager, because I am unable to properly focus on the storylines of more than 1-2 sims at the time. I have no problem raising litters of toddlers and kids, as they don't really interest me and it's mostly just raising skills, completing aspirations and ensuring that no one dies, it's the teenager stage when the fun begins. So as soon as they age up, I'll move them out with enough money for at least some kind of housing and add them to my rotation. The only exception are teenage vampires, who will get to stay untill their powers have evolved to the stage where they are able to go outside without burning to death.

Awesome! When my sims do have children, my play style is more geared toward single and lovin it, lol. But when I do have sim kids, they usually have a shortened lifespan...ie they get to be teens quickly, because of that very reason, I can't focus on 3 or 4 storylines in a household. I'm old and I'm sticking to that story. :DForgot to say, most of my kids stay with their parents, even during young adulthood. I get attached.

I like to play one family meaning all my households have an relation to each other, it really depends on the story I'm doing, I tend to make my teens as teeny as I can go in the sims 4 they still stay with mum and dad at that point and have a curfew at 11pm, when I want them to move out it's normally when they reach young adult, some go to university I either have them live in a dorm or still stay with mum and dad at that point, I once done a story of an young adult sim still staying with mum and dad without a job etc lol in that story I made the mum and dad very frustrated with them that they always party and sponge off them, I done a bustin out story ( got the idea from the sims bustin out)

For my PC game, I wanted one family to have more than one teen, so I moved out their other teens, and edited more teens into the family. The moved out teens are neighbors to each other in the same area, and still visit their parents and siblings.Further plans for my PC and PS4 Sim teens is to keep them with their families until they are young adults, unless I have teens I want to marry later on. I have two teens I moved out to live with a young adult Sim, and I am building up their relationship, so I can marry them as young adults and marry them to each other.With some other teens, and young adults, I will let them explore the world(s), and move the heirs back into their childhood home, and let non-heirs live elsewhere. Heir teens/young adults will "inherit" their childhood homes, and will have the most kids, while the other teens/young adults where they are more free to move around and explore, with kids being an option for them.

I completely agree about finding it hard to follow too many ongoing storylines. I tend to have one overall household storyline that the different members dip and and out of and when they’re not centre stage I tend to leave them on auto or skill building.I don’t usually play teen sims, but for the ones I do have stories in mind for, their parents are kind of background characters so they don’t have anything exciting going on other than surviving and going to work.But to actually answer the question I usually wait for the young adult stage to move out children, with the exception of one teen who I had run away and live in a tent in a residential park lot.

I agree with you, I usually switch my focus over to the teens once they become teens. I don't move them out though, unless there was some reason why they needed to. Instead I let the parents autopilot a bit more until the empty-nest stage after the teens grow up to YA and move out.

I've never actually done the runaway teen storyline, it might be an idea in the future with one of my teens
