Like first, theres no way to take a break from filming a video and pick it up where you left off and having done videos myself, i find that annoying. Even if you save and quit to go do other things while they are in the middle of filming, when you come back in the game they have to start from the very beginning of the task again.

And there seems to be no point in producing a track besides getting skill and fame. My sim produced his in like five seconds, hit "burn", and he got offered a record deal right after he shared his useless five second soundbyte. Which i guess might be realistic for the music industry today idk.
Very confusing and disappointing.
After skilling up a bit, I discovered that videos can be combined. So have your sim end the videos (or let the drone run out of battery,) then you can combine them into one video. I've never tried saving & quitting while recording, so I'm not sure what's going on there.
My sim has been constantly producing tracks and is now at level four and still hasn't been offered a record deal. I think your sim was lucky, (or the track was really high quality?) and the experience won't be the same every time. Tracks can also be played in public on dj booths and I think it's cool that they're also heard on the radio. What else would you like to see regarding tracks besides skill and fame?
