My Sims were pretty good, I thought, at taking care of their garden. Gramps (my Founder's live-in ghost) was always out there taking care of it. He was fond of the Cowplant, too, despite it devouring my Gen. 5 Heir's wife. Thursday when I played it was fine. When I powered up Friday, I suddenly saw that it was dead. :open_mouth: Sometimes the dern thing would refuse the food offered, but normally, in the end it would eat. What did I do wrong? Are they always this fragile?I was hoping to keep it around for awhile. Sadness. I got extraordinarily lucky when my Gen.6 Heir apparent, then only a child, managed to snag the seed on his first-ever venture into the realm of fishing.I have to go back into my game to get a picture of its poor, skeletal self. I thought I took one, but who knows where it went? Please share your experiences with the Cowplant.

It says the reason cowplants die is because a sim won't eat the cake it offers through its mouth. After the cake has been in it's mouth and he takes it away, 12 sim hours later, it dies. I've killed 4 cowplants this way because I don't want it to eat my sim. I'm not sure if it'll spit them back out, so I'd rather my cowplant die, than my sim take his/her life.

I love my cowplants. My legacy family has a pair and a guy in my main save have a pair. The only thing is, I keep them locked behind a gate to the garden so no accidents happen with autonomy. And i try to feed them asap when they put out the cake.For man eating killers, they're adorable.. however there was an incident in the main save with the guy's gf getting devoured by the pair.. after that he had to put them in garden in the backyard..Note: cowplant doesn't kill you the first time. First time it spits you out and gives you the drained moodlet. If you take the cake a 2nd time within 2 day (drained moodlet duration), you die.

I can't keep them alive. I feed them twice a day (the package not a sim). They always die. I haven't planted anymore lately.

They can be fed normally with the cake out and keep living, they don't have to eat simsEither way they die too easily and its too hard to get them to kill off random sims

Gosh, never had issues with them dying.. and if one did, I have a plant that can produce cowberries.. Oh, and everyone in my legacy family carries a death flower cause there was the one time I left the gate unlocked and somebody was stupid

That's very interesting. Mine was in near proximity to the planter boxes full of things, from the Growfruit, the plantain tree and two other boxes full of spinach, potatoes, grapes, basil, mushrooms and one hybrid. I wanted the Cowplant closer, but I kept getting the red squares, so it more or less dictated where I could place it. :'( Oh, well, at least now I don't have the constant anxiety that one of my Sims will get eaten!

I don't know why (and don't really care tbh) but I genuinely hate cowplants.

There is something odd and creepy about them, on the one side, but on the other, they're fascinating.

So is a dead cowplant classed as an ‘ornament’? I’m worried my gardener will try to dispose of it... i was gutted it left the Sim world... handsome beastie!
