My Creature Creation Entries

Hi folks, I know that this section of the Forums is kind of dead, but I have a particular love for this round of Spark'd's Creature Challenge and I had so much fun creating new and updating old households of mine that I thought I'd share them here. I'm an avid Occult player and love to put strange Sims into my game and match them with some of the amazing builds that I find on the Gallery.

I'm going to put each household in a new post to try to declutter and if there are several pictures, I'll put them under spoilers.

First household I want to share is my Happy Haunts Staff. The idea came from the second place concept winner in the community stuff pack vote and I still hope that the theme will be a game pack one day. So as part of my own vision as to what this kind of pack might be like, I made these guys. The story says:

"Ghost trouble? Missing that relative who won't let you rest because they can't? Call 1-666-H-p-p-y-h-n-t and our Undertaker will fix all of your haunting needs! Let our Oracle get all the answers you don't want to hear while our on-site Gravedigger finds out who's really dead (or not)! Or, get an appointment with the Gatekeeper and speak directly to your Reaper! (Now hiring!) At Happy Haunts, we're not happy unless you're haunted!"

    My next creature household is The Four Horsemen of the Simpocalypse.

    I've always loved this concept and had a great time designing them. The post reads:

    "The Four Horsemen of the Simpocalypse! Their coming is an omen of doom! War, Famine, Death and Pestilence are destined to wreak havoc on Sim Nation and bring destruction and despair to all!"

    This household was something I wanted to complete for a while and the Spark'd Challenge gave me the motivation to do it. I already had an Egyptian Queen and her household in my game, but I really wanted the Gods. I have a passion for ancient Egypt and have a collection of items in real life so finishing this household made me very happy.

    "The Ancient Gods of Egypt! Osiris, god of the dead, the underworld and afterlife, resurrected by the mystical powers of I-sis. Lady Bast, goddess of protection, pleasure and cats. The mystical goddess I-sis, of magic, fertility, healing and rebirth. The tumultuous Set, god of darkness, storms and chaos. And the enigmatic Anubis, guardian of the dead, walker between worlds, and god of cemeteries and mummification."

    Next I have The Loa, the spirit-gods of Voodoo. I already had made a Papa Legba inspired by American Horror Story and a voodoo Mambo named after Ayida, so I did some new tweaking and added Samedi and Brigitte to the group. I really wish we would get Zombies and the ability to raise the dead from a grave as a Zombie, Ghost or regular Sim so my Team Voodoo can make some mischief.

    "The Loa spirits visit when the Houngan or Mambo summons them properly in a Voodoo ritual. They can be benevolent, but they also tend to make a lot of mischief with the foolhardy. So be wise and respectful or it will be your undoing!"

    Maman Brigitte (A side note: Brigitte came from the Irish gods so she is known to be the only "white" Loa. I tried to make her features look slightly more mixed to represent the transition between cultures.)

    I might as well put my Hindu Gods here next. Apparently, I really like religious mythologies.

    I wanted to make these two Sims look as close to the popular art depictions as possible, with the beautiful colors and blue skin and rosy complexions. It was hard, lol. I need more headdresses and ceremonial outfits in CAS!

    The post reads: "Shiva, the mighty Hindu god of destruction and restoration... and Kali, the Dark Mother, goddess of destruction, death and fertility. (I really felt that Kali needed her golden headdress so I had to improvise in her dark form.)"

    Okay, this next one had to be done. I love pirates. I loved the pack in Sims Medieval and I love the costumes and putting pirates in Sulani in my game. But pirates aren't really a "creature" and the zombie pirate thing has been done to death. (Haha punny!) Sooo...

    "This band of Pirates, led by Captain Black Betty, carry a curse! Three nights a month, when the moon is at its fullest, they turn into Werewolves and ravage any in their path! Usually they take to the sea to keep humans safe, but if they are imprisoned or beset by enemies... they unleash their horrors until no one remains to tell the tale. So beware if you want to work on this ship, it comes with a very dark price!

    Plus, I really, really want Werewolves. <3

    The next one is another concept I've wanted to do for a long time, The Furies.

    It was really important to me that they looked menacing and dangerous and wild. I had to scrounge through the CAS a lot to find styles that would work for them and I very nearly bought Eco Lifestyle just to get access to more ragged pieces and hairstyles, lol. The next half-off sale though, I'm going for it. :D

    "The terrifying Furies! They come from the Underworld to avenge acts of violence, jealousy, lies and sins against the gods. They are merciless and will rend apart those who are marked for punishment!"

    Okay, this household is something I did originally years ago for my own amusement and they've evolved over time. I went back in to visually clarify each character and tweak a couple of them for improvements. The concept is a nefarious Midnight Carnival of evil and mischief that appears for a night, spreads debauchery and danger and disappears before morning, leaving Sims broken and despairing...or worse.

    The post says: Ringmaster: "Come one, come all when night falls, many delights and shocking frights, enter within and revel in sin, if you're willing to pay, they depart before day! Let the darkness reign! Enter if you dare!" This is my nefarious midnight carnival. Folks who have seen them and lived, whisper of terrible unseen things in the dark. Evil, madness, and secrets lurk within!

    Next I have my Fae. A few years back, my original Fae households had a lot of CC so when I changed to a vanilla game, I could only really transfer my four females. So I've since gone back and added more characters and did more updating on my originals. Males are very hard to make, we really could use more fantastical CAS items or, you know, a Fairy/Mythology based pack. (Shameless hint!)

    "Elves, Fairies, Pyxies, Dryads, and Goblins, all ruled by the Horned King. They don't always like to wear shoes because they like to keep their feet connected to nature. The Fairies love to wear hats for various occasions, but they are a little weird and mischievous. They don't have wings in Winter because they regrow them every Spring. Also, beware, they bite!"
