I'm on Xbox One so I'm wondering if deleting the saved data files and reloading the game so they download from the cloud would fix it?It's very strange. I played the game yesterday with almost no lag but today, I can't even switch between sims because it's so lagged down.In the past, even at its laggiest, I would just hit the game menu button on my controller and let it sit for about 10 seconds, then it would clear completely up but not today.Anyone else have this issue and if so, any ideas on how to fix them?

I play on the game on my laptop and noticed it has been laggy lately too. So, I don't know what is going on. I have very little cc and only Twisted Mexi Mod for build buy. I like to keep my cc to a minimum and by a few select developers that keep their cc up to date. I don't know, very interesting.

Which scared the bejeepers out of me, because its 5 years old and my previous three laptops died at age 5. So I did all the tests uncle google suggested. It all got fixed after updating my graphics card.

Interesting, I usually update graphics drivers once or twice a year.. this laptop is about 5-6 years old now.... Its working okay, but I havent noticed too much lag since the game is on a different drive which is ssd compared to HDD in laptop.

Well, I found out that by deleting my two saved data files, again on Xbox One, and then reloading the game to re-sync, it works with no lag at all so far. Maybe if you have a folder with something like your username and reserved space, you can remove them and sync to the cloud? I dunno.

Okay so deleting those two files was only a temporary fix apparently. Because the lag is back again. The only thing I can think is that it's the delivery update thing. Because I got one yesterday and the lag started after that and today, I can't play the game again. I'm gonna completely shut down my Xbox and reset it to see if that helps.

I'm on a PC and my game has been laggy too. Only have MCCC for mods.
@mcrudd Coincidentally, I had updated my graphics card drivers yesterday as I was having an issue with something else, I haven't checked yet to see if that helped with my Sims laggies. I'm glad you mentioned to check that though.

Yeah, my smooth moment was just that, a moment. But I just reset my Xbox and am waiting to see if that solves the issue. It's syncing now so that will take a little while.

Hopefully this solves it. I don't know how to help PC users though but I hope updating your video card does the trick.

Also it's worth pointing out that my Xbox is a few years old at this point so it may be ready for perma-rest. I hope not...

The game can have a lot of lag sometimes, for some reason opening the pause menu and closing it again temporarily fixes it. That often helps when the game lags during build/buy mode or after you have taken photos. I think we have had that bug for a long time now.

Other things that can help is clearing your sims inventories or reducing the amount of items on lots like mirrors and fountains, if you have seasons, then fall and winter can be a bit demanding to render.

These are good to note. I am a huge user of the menu button to clear the lag but for the last couple of days, that hasn't helped at all. I also haven't added any new water features or mirrors than I had a week ago. So I don't think that's a problem.

The only two differences are the mini-update thing and the 5th baby. So it may be one or both of them.

However, I will note that the lag went away for a little while today until I evolved two bonsai bushes. Immediately after, the lag came back.
