My sim got infected and she doesn't even live in Strangerville

I'm not quite sure what just transpired, but things really took a huge left turn in my game. Currently, my sim, her husband, and their new baby live in Britchester, and the couple is attending the university. The couple I am playing are vampires and they are happy with each other when one day a woman they don't know just walked into their home, and flirted with the husband. This, in turn, caused the wife to lose control and she drained the offending woman, who ended up passing something on to the wife, and now the wife is infected. The poor husband is at his wits ends on what is going on.

After that, she decided to go wandering outside, during the daytime (which is pretty bad for a vampire), and she ended up making her way across the street to the canale, where she ended up taking a stroll through the canale. Sorry I didn't get a picture of that. Anyways I ended up exiting to the main menu and came back into the game shortly before things went wonky. This time I very quickly had my sim tell that woman to leave before the damage was done. But this does give me an idea for this couple later on in the game, which would lead the storyline to Strangerville, but not today.

    I've not had any interaction with Strangerville yet in my own save so it's pretty cool to see that Infected Sims can still appear outside the world if you haven't solved the mystery yet. Do you know if you had visited Strangerville at all during the save to trigger this spreading...? :open_mouth:

    The couple you are playing are vampires...

    So, did one of them drink from an infected sim? Vampires can get infected by that way.

    Edit. Read the whole post. Yes, it is so. Now you'll have to do that StrangerVille story to get her uninfected. Unless you use bb.showhiddenobjects cheat to obtain the cure.
    But I'd keep her that way. Every time a sim becomes posessed, their needs fill up to the max and stay that way until it goes away.

    Unfortunately yes, just the night before this happened, his sister called him up and asked if he wanted to meet her somewhere for a drink. The location happened to be at a location in Strangerville, which I didn't think much of until after they arrived.

    Simply visiting Strangerville is harmless and from my experience won't trigger anything. But the pack comes with three pre-infected sims and soon as you interact with them, they may get ideas like visiting or inviting you. I think they can also get drafted as passersby and (if unemployed) for specific roles like food stall vendors, so it is easy to accidently interact with them.
