My Sim keeps getting into fights. How do I stop this?

Check your sims skills. Also if the sim has that erratic trait it may make them hot headed and fight. If it is neighborhood brawl day, sims will fight. And if you have Eco Living you may have a neighborhood NAP that encourages folks to fight - not sure what that NAP is called.

I have full autonomy on, but I have never had a sim just up and start fighting Father Winter cart blanche.

Seriously I don't know what could be causing it, I have full autonomy on but have never had that happen yet. More details would be needed. Like what packs you have, what settings, what world this is happening in, what the characters traits are, etc...

is he in a club or do you have a lot trait that makes sims fight
are you using any mods or cc

check NAP - if Roughhousing Encouraged is enabled. You may cheat-disable this NAP also from other neighborhoods.

My sims only ever fight autonomously when they are witches and catch the hostility curse, or whatever it's called... Could that be it?

No to all of the above.

Does your sim live in the Windenburg old town neighbourhood? There are or at least used to be a couple of spots where sims would autonomously pick up fights.

were you using mods before if so your save may be broken

are they siblings with a bad relationship

Oh, I remember that! One of my Sims kept getting beat up, mostly by teenagers. It was the lot with the park and I had replaced it with a residential lot. Good times!
