My Sim Won't Cook

Do you have hanging pans? In all seriousness. My sim wouldn't cook unless it was moved out of her way >_>
Smarter sims, yeah alright.

The dresser is the drawers, or a mirror will do it to in sims4. send your sim to the drawers and select plan outfit, the loading screen will start and you can change their clothes ect. or sometimes just taking a shower helps, I have no idea why but it usually helps.

Mine couldn't cook yesterday, and she's got pretty high cooking and gourmet levels. I tried another sim and got the same thing. Finally I replaced the stove and all was well again. Since the OP has already tried that, I have no idea. There were times in TS3 when the kitchen stopped working properly when there was an invisible plate behind a counter somehow. That was solved by bringing in a maid to clean up, but the maids don't do much in this game.

I've seen this. Where my Sim wanted to put the food on the counter, but it was blocked by a glass which I couldn't see. Most of the time (maybe not this time) it's because they are picking up the item because they are ready to pour it into a plate and something is blocking them from using the particular counter they want to use. I have seen this about ten times now in a household of roommates of at least six. Or in my case, too, another Sim was on their way to use the same counter and the game really doesn't let me see all those queues anymore like in the other games to know which one is headed into blocking my Sim from using a particular counter etc. But that's my game and just pointing out things overhead, other Sim's multitasking Ideas and even those very clear empty glasses block these Sims.

I had trouble with baking. Cooking on the stovetop worked fine, but there was routing failure for baking (waving hands etc.). Turns out the kitchen chair was too close to the stove, so they could not open the oven door to put the cake in. It took me forever to figure out, because I thought if they could walk past it and cook on top of it, there should be enough room for anything.

I had the same problem. My sim would set the stuff on the floor :o My issue was the pots and pans that I used for a hanging kitchen decoration were blocking the way..Go figure! Work fine now :)
