My vampires are day walkers but guess what?

I don't understand. Where do they get the umbrella? Don't they have to own one first? I agree it will be a nuisance once your vampire is upgraded to day walker and they still will automatically pull out an umbrella because... why.

It's an automatic thing and if you don't use umbrella then when it rains they would get wet and yes you could grab an umbrella when it starts to rain but I have better things to do then to baby sit an umbrella stand

Ah, ok, I don't have Seasons so I hope it won't affect me then, but I understand how it's a nuisance when you do.

@bunny-gypsy Yes they are walking with umbrella all the time it's annoying they take two steps do something then up come the umbrella again take four steps and ops here is the umbrella again etc and yes I know for some simmers they don't have the points to upgrade their vamps or no funds to make the drinks at a bar and stuff so it is a good thing for those who have vampires that need the safety net of an umbrella but what happens is they fix for some and mess things up for others, get my drift?

Oh, okay. I could see that being a pain if the vamps don’t need the sun protection. It might be a little slip up, and maybe it’s something to bring up to the gurus.

I’m still happy to have the option at least for my own vampires who don’t have daywalker powers yet, though.

I really hate this umbrella thing.... -.- It was awful in TS3 and it's awful in TS4.

Why don't NPC vampires only come out of their house during the night like in TS2?

I don't see this update as a bug, they simply didn't think it all the way through, that is always how it is with a patch it fixes for some and messes things up for others that's life in the sims world LOL
