This is the first wedding I have had in my game since the "fixes" have been in place. I was moderately encouraged when the Engagement Dinner went reasonably well. The Bach Party, not so much; some of the invited guests had to be phoned and asked to "hang out on lot". Next came the wedding. Strangely, I found I had to go back to the various family members to reset their clothing. Worse, is many didn't show up. Again, my Sim had to employ his phone to ask the invited family to "hang out on lot". When enough of them showed up, I began the ceremony. When I tried to send down the aisle the Ring Bearer, it was greyed out and hovering over the tab, it said there was no chosen Ring Bearer. Face palm. There was when I set up this event, initially. Same with the Flower Pal. The only thing that worked right for a change. was the father of the bride managed to walk her down the aisle. I captured some sweet pictures of that. Both mothers were A.W.O.L. And the bride's four sisters were absent, too.We are talking a major disaster, here. If MWS was on a disk, it would be shattered about now. I've never been so disappointed in my life. I've had problems with this pack in the past, but not to this extent. Once again, I had to exit without saving. I shall have to run through the wedding again. If nothing more than to allow me to get the desired pictures of the event.Please, modders, fix this.

I only do simple weddings now. However, I find it helpful prior to a wedding or other big event, to make a club of all the family members I want to attend. Then I can call a club gathering if people don't show up. I usually find that not everyone invited attends events, no matter what they are. I'm not sure how the game decides who's "available".

I feel you there! I have at least 100Gbs of mods, and I still can't work around many of the glitches and bugs EA won't fix. Still trying to get a sim of mine to move into the 4th floor unit of a residential rental, and the Jewelry.py tracker LE error from Crystal Creations is going to haunt me for the rest of my life.I wanted to chime in because I am a storyteller player who needs absolutely everything to be as I envision it, and I have two mod recommendations that may help resolve your issue.The first is TitanNano's Control Any Sim mod, which is on ModTheSims. It lets you control any sim not in your household without having to actually add them to the household, and it even turn sims in your household into NPCs temporarily if you don't feel like controlling all 8 sims at the same time. Sims which are invited to a lot will still have lot visitor rules and won't act like household sims, but you can control them any way you please without MC Control or MC Self Command.The other mod is Amellce's Steady Sit/Seat Any Sim mod, which will let you seat sims in chairs for up to 4 in-game hours without them standing up, moving or queueing any other interactions. It will override any of that nonsense if you just want them to sit during a wedding. It will be in the Actions button in the main pie menu, then it will give you the option to Control Sim or Don't Control Sim, if they're already selected.What I would do, in your case, is invite over as many Sims to the wedding as you can, and whoever cannot be invited or won't come over, you could use MCCC in two ways: (if it's a residential lot where a mailbox is present: click the mailbox to bring up the MCCC menu, choose the NPC option, then Summon Sim, which will force that sim to visit). The other option, if a mailbox is not present: (use MCCC's teleport option to teleport multiple sims to any particular sim. After that, control them with Control Any Sim, then click any chair and choose "Seat Sims" or "Steady Sit" for each individual sim and chair. I couldn't play the game without these invaluable mods anymore, honestly. They're needed to have a sane playthrough, especially in the case of formal events where even the most easily distracted human beings, including children, successfully sit in a chair for at least 30 minutes. One thing I did was move all the principal players into the same household so that I had control of them all. The bride & groom, her parents, the bride's two sisters, who were her bridesmaids, the officiant, and the best man. I didn't have a ring bearer or flower pal.

Dine Out is also sketchy....I have University and had no problems with that EP in 2023 but I guess University is a bug invested mess as well since the last few updates in 2024.
The Sims games are unique, complex and not an easy game to create. I can only hope that the current team behind this most recent design of the game( Sims 4) will focus on fixing buggy EP's and Packs that they are selling before adding more to the game.
I wish simmers would stop promoting these broken DLC's and start asking for fixes.
My imagination has no boundaries therefore I can pretend that my game is working beautifully...but my game is hating on these bugs in a ridiculous way.
Edit: The more DLC you own...The more bugs you create in your save.

Ideally, modders won't have to fix it, and EA can completely fix it. I don't know why the pack is so buggy, but it's not alright. I personally don't own the pack, and I've been postponing my purchase of it for a few months now and the reason being the SEVERE amount of bugs
EA, PLEASE FIX THE PACK, IT CAN'T BE THAT HARD! I WILL PAY FOR THE PACK ONCE IT'S BEEN FIXED.

I have a habit, good or bad, of simply replaying the wedding. That way I have a chance to capture pictures from both go-arounds. My recent story update, is a combination of pictures from my first and then second attempt to have a wedding worth telling about.

I knew it was borked when I bought it, but the world is so amazing! So I just don't worry about an event when it comes to weddings, I have them elope as others have mentioned. But I will say I would buy it again just for the world.

I hear you. I had such high hopes for it when it was announced. I bought it straight-away. I do have to say, while it's a pain to have to repeat something, I did get my choice of some good screenshot captures to tell the story. And for the first time ever, both children fulfilled their bridal party duties. Yay. I'll take the small victories.

That pack is such a hot mess, it's a disgrace. I love the world and the CAS and build items, but the events... urgh. Such a hit and miss. I had my main Sim couple do a vow renewal because their first wedding was very chaotic and hasty. Well. Guests milled about the location instead of taking their seats while the couple was standing in front of that arc and had to exchange vows without guests. That and the wedding dance were pretty much the only interactions that worked. Everything else? Forget it. No matter how often I clicked on the various actions, the other Sims just wouldn't do what I wanted.
I did a second wedding with a younger couple a while ago, and the two bachelor parties went very well - the ladies had a lot more fun, though, because they chose the cooler location and are a merrier bunch than the guys. For the wedding, everybody showed up as planned, and the dress code worked fine, too. It took some time until everybody was in place, and during the ceremony, the guests wandered around and cried their eyes out. The couple wouldn't go down the aisle either. But they got it done, and afterwards, things went a lot more smoothly.
I just don't understand why for one wedding, things work more or less like they should while for the second wedding, nothing works at all. This could be such a great pack, especially in combination with Lovestruck.

Thank you, that's very sound advice. I managed to do a rollback and replay the wedding. (Had to, somehow, I managed to lose little Adrian for a second time. One must be so careful when you've changed the number of Sims allowed in a household. Not only that but to my horror, the Road to Fame mod suddenly wasn't in my Mods folder. Say, what?) My Rock Star (the groom) began his ascent to fame when he was in his mid-teens. No time, now, to have him go back and recreate the 8 albums, 2 songs or anything else saving without the mod in place removes. At any rate, having taken pictures with the first wedding, I am now able to combine them with the ones shot at Wedding Event, Take Two. Cue the music and go!
I am also a storyteller-player. Now, I have to write up the next two updates so I can share the events. Thanks again!

I don't mind having to do the wedding over more than once. So long as I get snapshots I want, that is. I was hoping that with the patch that was released touting fixes for so many of MWS ailments, that I wouldn't have to do things, as usual. I was very encouraged, for instance, when for the first time ever, the Engagement Dinner went smoothly. (Thinking back on it, that should have been my first clue.)

If I want an all out wedding it's just the bride and broom at a venue. If they are living with any one else, then they are also welcome to take photos. This way I still get pictures to hang on the wall. I have givin up on flower pals and ring bearers a long time ago.
But mostly I let them elope.
