I just have to wait for creators to reupload their existing venues with the new lot type and for those who buy the pack right away to start uploading! will the one they showed be part of the pack? i missed that part.

The wedding venue lot type will come to base game in the patch, so we'll be able to create and upload those to the gallery without the pack. All the lots of that type created by maxis and the gamechangers they worked with will probably be in the pack itself. I didn't watch the livestream but I'm assuming the used the prebuilt lots that will be in the new world.

You could start downloading the ones you like even before you get the pack. If you are "missing items" from a lot that you download because of not owning the pack, they aren't removed when you download the lot. Only when you actually place it in your game.

I've waited for a sale before buying almost all of the Stuff, Game and Expansion packs that TS4 has gotten, but I always start downloading things from the gallery right away when that early rush of people uploading things from the 'new pack' starts. That way I got to participate in the "oh this is new and shiny" frenzy even though I hadn't even bought it yet. :lol:

I already have approximately 20-25 wedding lots saved to my library. Chances are I'll continue to use those and just change the venue type until builders are able to create even more wedding lots with the new pack.

are we getting a update before release?

I think some folks are speculating we’re getting one on the day before or two days before. (Some folks say maybe Tuesday or Wednesday?)

They usually release a patch on the Tuesday before a pack launch.
