I have made a copy of my currently Sims4 game folder and placed it onto a Flash Drive, for safe-keeping. Then I made a copy of the original to create a vanilla game. I've even done a repair on it after I removed the mods folder. However, since I had a mod that extended the Starlight Accolades, which are supposed to run from 11AM until 11 PM, on the calendar it's set up to run from 11AM to 4 PM. Normally, without mods they run from 4PM to 11PM. This is the second time I had my Sim there just moments after 11AM. From my past experience, Things don't get started IE the Host doesn't show up, until closer to the 1PM hour. This time, with no Host ever showing up, the Awards concluded at 4PM. Worthless. The first time this happened I exited without saving and placed the mod into the vanilla game. Then I started it up again, and the awards show went on like normal. This doesn't bode well, that even after doing a game repair the time on the calendar is off. Should I regenerate a game folder and move the saves and tray files over to fix this?Or: Go ahead and play the modded game. Or: Start over from scratch? I really don't wish to have to wait to play with Infants for another 5-6 weeks. But, if removing the mods messed up the game, I'm in a quandary. I had really hoped to get my YA couple married today. But that doesn't look like it's going to happen. Plus, the girls keep ending up bald. I gave them both some cc hair. I tried to change their hair out in the original save, before making the copy and they are still showing up, (likely when they change outfits) without hair. I'm beat up already.Of the above options, what is my best bet, please? I truly never thought I'd find myself in this position.

Did you delete your localthumbnail.cache file? If you haven't done that, it still registers bits of the mod.

I'd try regenerating new game files before considering the save borked. There are other files that hold mod info, so it could be one of those too. Saves and tray are safe to move back after doing so, but I wouldn't move anything else until after you have investigated whether that solved the issue or not.

Did you delete your localthumbnail.cache file? If you haven't done that, it still registers bits of the mod.

You may have already tried this, but did you delete the localthumbcache when you removed your mods? That sometimes helps refresh internal things. You could also try saving as for a test save, then jumping ahead to the next week to see if the game just needed to time refresh for the next scheduled Accolades (i.e. let it regenerate on the calendar).

Personally, I'd stick with the modded game that you're happy with and delay infants for a week or two, then reassess the decision based on whether your mods have updated. It's not a terrible idea to wait a few days anyway just in case the update introduces some unexpected weirdness that would render it unplayable, with or without mods.

Edit: sorry, just saw you already did the localthumbcache. This is a rough choice

Yes, I have a habit of deleting the localthumbcache.package before I play, each time, and especially after removing or adding a mod. I'm sitting here worried my save, itself, has become corrupted. :open_mouth:

I could continue playing the modded save, since I've already cloned it, the cloned version on a flash drive. At least the Accolades show would continue on as normal, Erik would also have concerts and photoshoots, plus royalties on his 8 albums. Generally, I only have to wait for MCCC to be hot-fixed. So, playing without that particular mod isn't a game-killer.

I know you like road to fame but it not likely to be updated fast after Tuesday patch. Try removing all to desktop and make a new save and see if it a mod.

Tell me about it. It was finally updated and that's the copy I have. I have to say I never stopped using that mod in the between time. Sacrificial said it wouldn't hurt our games to do so. I'm just hoping that if it breaks yet again, the rabbit hole portion will still work. That has kept me afloat for close to a year or so. Yeah, he's got a lot of very intricate mods. I was just over the moon when I got the Twitter message it was updated. Okay, I will regenerate the Sims4 folder. I was definitely leaning toward that, as in the past it has resolved some of the ills I ran into.

oh you have 5c copy of road to fame nice i have that one and seeing if it will work for my sim none of my sims have ever won a sims version of a Oscar.

I ALWAYS create a new The Sims 4 folder for whatever patch/pack that comes out and test it that way, then I read the broken CC/Mods thread and start updating those that I feel are essential (I have wayyyy too many).

But, I've found that just a newly generated TS4 folder helps hold issues at bay most of the time. (And, of course I don't put my Mods folder, tray folder or saves back into the game until I know it's safe).
