Need some help

So I have this sim who had a girlfriend, but was also romantic with another girl. Unfortunately, his girlfriend has seen it (him, his girlfriend and his other love interest are all in the same club) and so their romance bar was deep in the red in the end. Now I want to get him back together with his ex-girlfriend, but no romantic interaction works. They are constantly rejecting each other and I have no clue what to do. Their friendship bar is really high and I atleast managed to get their romance bar back to 0, but they are still rejecting each other with romantic interactions.

Does anyone know what I could do now? I want them to come back together.

Have you tried out this cheat? "modifyrelationship yoursimfirstname yoursimlastname targetfirstname targetlastname Integer (Between -100 to 100) LTR_romance_main" This cheat can either boost or drain their romance depending on the integer.
  • If their romance bar is below zero, romantic interactions are likely to be rejected even with high friendship - and even if their romance is at something like -1 and basically looks like zero.

What I’d suggest is to find a way to make them both flirty. Serenading the other Sim is an easy way to make them flirty if your Sim has a high enough instrument skill. Making Flirty Heart Cookies and calling them to a meal is another way.

If both Sims are flirty, romantic socials are pretty likely to succeed even when they’d normally be rejected otherwise.

If that somehow doesn’t work, then just work on making out the friendship while giving the romance meter a chance to decay back to zero (in case it’s just slightly below) - but the flirty trick should do it.

Bad relationships are surprisingly easily salvageable if you know what you’re doing. I had one married couple whose relationship was literally all over the place (mainly because they argued a LOT). They could max out both bars in the red and have them both back at full green a couple days later. Sometimes they even managed to have one bar in the red with the other in the green (though they never maxed them out in opposite directions at the same time).

Yeah, those relationship bars can be quite easy to manipulate.

I will try to make them flirty next time. I'm glad there are these TS3 reward lamps in build mode which give emotional auras, I think one of them has a flirty one. Actually, according to UI Cheats Extension, their romance bar is at 4, so atleast a bit of progress. I noticed that things like compliment appearance seem to work, but anything else doesn't.
  • The extension UI mod helps to be able to right click the desired sim in the relationship panel and set it that way

I actually don't want to cheat. I already used it to try to get the romance bar higher, I think I cheated it to 20 at the beginning, but they still acted like it was -19 as before.
  • Maybe they need time apart, like a small break. I say take one sim for vacation for a couple of days. Once they cooled off, and after some time the red in the bar may go down, you can try again. If after the, they still repell each other, I don't know what else could be done.

The idea of getting them flirty like someone else suggested may be the best option. I hope this all works out though, and I hope you get them back together.
  • @Huiiie_07 If one of them or both have writing skill (level 4 is required, I think), they can write each other love letters on the computer. This will increase their romance bar without them interacting directly. I like to use this method as I think it's very sweet and romantic :)
  • The parents in one of my saves suddenly had red in their friendship bar. I'm at a loss as to how that came to be. He's not stepping out on her — at least not that I have witnessed. This was bad news. The storyline requires that they have a fifth child. In trying to understand what went wrong between them, I checked out their moodlets. Seems their last woohoo, she wasn't satisfied. This put her in an angry mood. I have to laugh, because while she was unhappy over it, his moodlet showed their woohoo to be very satisfying. I'm not sure just how I got them over it. I did have them interact more and by some mythical thing they did get flirty. This paved the way to satisfying woohoo for her and a pregnancy. Now, my storyline is back on track. But it was not without some tense moments on my part.

Best of luck resolving their issues. I do hope you'll post wedding photos when the issue is resolved. :)

Compliment Appearance is your best friend in these situations. Just start slow and low, throwing it in every 4th or 5th interaction. Pepper their conversation with flattery and jokes. It might help if they're doing something together, like playing chess or Don't Wake the Llama, or dancing.
It might take a few conversations, but it'll nudge the Romance bar up a little bit every time.
I've had really good luck with the "Bold Pick Up Line" interaction when my Sim gets Confident. It seems to have just the right amount of humor to keep the other Sim from rejecting it.
Best of luck! You'll have them back together in a short time, I'm sure. And when you do, post some romantic pictures!

This has happened to me a few times. I usually just butter up the love interest by making doing a lot of friendly interactions and throwing in the occasional compliment appearance but you kinda sound like you are in some deep doo-doo
