EA added a "Go Home" button when you click on the sim. Your sims can also ask him to leave. If those don't work, I usually use the MCCC mod to make sims go home. If you don't have MCCC, I highly reccomend getting it. It olves a lot of annoying little problems like this.
I've tried the interactions to get him to leave the lot, no dice :( I'll try the sugggestions though, thank you both!
