Neighborhood Stories

What has happened to neighborhood stories? It's disabled and not anywhere in my game options. I had to turn all of my empty houses into rentals just to keep them empty! Is this a feature that will be returning?

Neighborhood stories hasn't gone anywhere. If you're running into issues, this how-to on the system might help: https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/neighborhood-stories-system
  • You may have to scroll down in Game Options to find the Neighborhood Stories section.
I think it's under Game Options > Gameplay and then scroll down.
That's for the global on/off toggle.
Settings for My Households, other households, and individual households can be found under Manage Worlds > Household Manager.

Do you mean that your empty houses were being filled, before you turned them into rentals to keep them empty? If households are moving into houses on their own, that means the Neighborhood Stories feature is on, and that "Move In" is enabled for those households.

  • Glad you found it @Celticlass :)
The old "fill empty houses" option was removed when Neighborhood Stories was made, since it was redundant with NS "move in".

That's interesting. I did that when I started a new save, and I couldn't find the global toggle anywhere in that category. :open_mouth: So very strange. So, I just check upon occasion on the mailbox and there's nothing happening. I can only assume it's turned off. Yay!
  • Thank you all for your answers. I was finally able to find neighborhood stories again. It wasn't there for a while. I set it so no one ever moves. Wasn't there a way to keep empty houses from being filled? I thought I remembered using that feature, but I can't seem to find it.
