@Amapola76, the botton appears on each household before you click on them, in the "manage households" interface. it is right next to the heart button that can be used to send them back and forth between "my" and "other" households.
Picture is worth a thousand words, the button in question which appears at both the top and on each household within manage households; follow the yellow arrow:

Thanks, the pictures definitely helped.
It also doesn't work at all the way I would have preferred. I was hoping for something more like the Fame system, where you can turn it off globally and then still edit individuals. So I had gone into options as soon as I opened the game, and turned off the global toggle for Neighborhood Stories. But then there was no option to turn on individual households in Manage Households, which is why the buttons weren't originally showing up for me. So I had to turn the global option back on, and then the buttons appeared so that individual households could be edited.
I really don't love that they set it up that way. The only small mercy is that at least it was defaulted to off for "My Households." However, I play rotationally, and I have a LOT of households, which means that there are several that I rotate in and out of "My Households" and "Other Households." So it's going to take hours to get it set up to the point where I feel comfortable playing my main save without worrying about what will happen to all the households I care about. Thankfully, I only opened it up today because the kids are all off doing their own things this weekend, so for once I have the house to myself and can do whatever I want. :D- Turn it on globally in Options.
- Press the reset to defaults button in Options.
- Go to Manage Households > Other Households and turn it off for the whole tab via the button top-right (My Households is already off by default, but you will need to do if for Other Households)
- No sims will progress unless you...
- Click on each household's NS button to set things manually.
Yes, as I said before, I get how it actually works. It's just not how I ideally would have designed it to work. - Turn it on globally in Options.
- AgnesXX923 years agoSeasoned AceCompletely turned off. I already have enough going on in my game without it.
- Reddestiny9213 years agoLegendI'm assuming it's a glitch since I didn't see anything about it in the neighborhood thing when it pops up but one of my couples that I left unplayed at first has had a hit to their relationship. Due to the wife being furious about cheating the only thing I turned off was moving in and out I wonder though I only see that when I did it never in sims I checked on for no reason.

I play rotational in my game, and I have aging set to only age played households when they are active. For unplayed households I keep it off until I"m playing the 7th (of 7) households in my rotation and then toggle it on just when I play that household. Doing it that way, unplayed households age at the same rate as all of my played ones. - ncisGibbs_BOSS3 years agoSeasoned AceThere is a definite baby, adoptions and pet boom! ?
As if the game needs to fill all eight slots.
Vlad now has seven kids! ?
The Vatores have three cats and a dog.
George Cahill from StrangerVille has three kids, two dogs and a cat!
I moved Mila Munch into a tiny house and then set her to Other Households. She’s adopted three toddlers and has three cats!
Also many Sims are changing jobs rapidly. I can’t keep up, it’s like they can’t decide what to do. ??♂️
It’s very funny to read all the goings on. ?
I only scale the families down if I’m going to play them. - elliebreton3 years agoLegendLol @ncisGibbs02 what period of time was that over?
- Kathykins3 years agoSeasoned AceYeah, its crazy how many kids and pets these sims are adopting, in addition to actually having babies of their own. I put my foot down on these stories when premade families started to move out of their family homes. So now they're only allowed to have career related changes. I need to do a round or two of "culling" also, but only for families I want to play. The rest can deal with their own foolishness.
And WHY are they all calling ME for advice on dating/friendhips/babies?? I tell them to make the decision themselves, but they think its "too hard". They're not taking the hint either, but keep asking if they should have a baby every week. I tell them no, few days later, they ask again. *sigh* - ncisGibbs_BOSS3 years agoSeasoned Ace

Over 2 evenings play about four/five hours each.
The career changes are very quick.
Nina got a job as a Diver, then next letterbox look; Nina left the Diver career and so on.
This is also what George Cahill, Bob Pancakes, Dina and Katrina are doing. Joining then leaving careers. I get notices frequently about these Sims doing it. Sometimes a random townie.
George Cahill is very odd as how is he supporting all these kids and pets if he keeps quitting jobs?! ??.
I didn’t get to play last night, so this evening I want to see if they can go over the 8 max limit. Does Neighbourhood Stories follow the same restrictions? ???♂️.
