New EA/Origin Desktop App.

I got the notification too, but Origin looks the same to me as it always has

Hopefully it's just a choice, and we can use Origin just as we always have.

I don't even see the point of it--what's the improvement?

Not sure. Hopefully it's more for people who want to play together, as the friend list seem to play a big part in the change over.

It's just a new client. Origin is a resource hog and all in all just a pain.

Hopefully EA Desktop will be better. I've been trying the beta and so far has been using a lot less resources in the back than Origin does. There's still a lot missing so I can't say how much better the end product will be, but hopefully it will all in all a lot better.

I will replace Origin somewhere down the line.

Well it seems to have a dark theme at least, from what I have seen on screenshots.

Hopefully it still has an offline mode as well.

I couldn't sign up for the trial because I use Mac.

If it will let me play without needing to log in/be online, I'll be happy. When the internet goes out is when I want to play Sims the most. :P

I just hope Non EA Games are still available to play, I bought The Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition and FarCry 4 Golden Edition through Origin and I hope both games can still be played through the new app.
