Yes, I think it's a routing issue. In previous Sims, you'd end up with the Sim putting the tray somewhere inaccessible and then refusing to continue with the action.
If I never hear another sim >:) >:) >:) >:) >:) >:) at me and wave their arms about while casting me the evil eye again in my life, I will be very pleased, even if it means they can pore tea from 3' away. - Gyldenloev3 years agoRising Veteran

@Kironide Good news, there is a "Serve Tea to.." option in the pie menu for the new tea set, shared in another thread by @Simgirl1010"simgirl1010;c-18061553" wrote:
The serve to option is available on the poured cups of tea. Not the teapot.
This is excellent news ? What happens when you click the “Serve Tea to...” option? Does your sim hand a cup to another sim or do the other sim come and join your sim? Either would work for me, I’m just curious.
I've seen it in one of the reviews yesterday - your sim will go to other sim and offer him a cup. If a sim is in another room and/or floor your sim will make its way there. So if you do not want to break immersion you'll need to keep all sims around the tea tray.
Thank you so much for replying :)
I was hoping that my sim would in fact be able to offer a cup to another sim so this sounds great, though I can imagine that having to chase down the other sim in order to hand over the cup could get pretty frustrating rather quickly even if it would seem hilarious the first couple of times. Probably best to keep the sims close to the tray. Crossing my fingers it’ll become available as an activity for clubs as well. - FatTribble233 years agoSeasoned AcePlease don't shoot me, but I'm not really that excited about the tea set. ::Ducks:: I am however really glad that it's coming with the pack since so many seem to be thrilled about it.
I've never actually understood the necessity for an electric kettle, but I'm sure that's just my ignorance about proper British tea. I'm not sure about the rest of the US, but down here in the South the only tea we drink is an awesome refresher called "sweet tea", which is served cold over ice. I'm sure the Brits here would be horrified to know how it's made LOL. But it only requires a regular kettle or even a pot of water.
Cheers and salutations for tea of all kinds! - Chicklet453683 years agoSeasoned Ace

Your post made me giggle. When I was growing up my mom had a tea kettle she'd boil her water in and then pour it in her cup over her tea bag, but never loose tea or anything like that. Then microwaves came out and that all changed. (Although the tea kettle still sat on the burner as a decorative thing LOL).
I'm L.A.Z.Y .... I just fill my mug with water, nuke it for about a minute and half, add my tea bag, a tablespoon of honey, and some sugar free sweetener and I'm good to go.
And "sweet tea" is a staple at my house as well (even though I'm not in the south, I'm USA - Midwest), but not just in the summer time, but any time, it's actually my normal drink of choice when I go out to eat. When I make it at home, we don't use real sugar in it, we only use artificial sweetener (Splenda) because my middle daughter is a diabetic so it's just easier to keep tea container sugar free so she's not drinking the "wrong tea" and spiking her blood sugar. - netney523 years agoSeasoned AceI know tea comes in many different forms but for me without milk it’s just not tea. I wish they had added British tea in the cottage living pack as a hot drink even this tea tray to me is still not a “proper brew”.

As a huge tea-drinker, I'm glad it's coming, though I wish it was included in Snowy Escape or Cottage Living, not in this buggy mess of a pack. :/ I always hated Tea Magic Personal Brewer because I've never seen such a thing in real life.
The Tea Magic Personal Brewer is a thing in real life, I have one!
It actually makes very, very good tea. You tell it the type of tea and what strength of tea that you want and it makes sure to get the water to the exact best temperature for that type of tea. The tea leaves don't go down into the water until it's the right temperature and then it steeps the tea for a length of time based on what you set for strength.. It's quite wonderful, actually and makes fabulous tea.
Here's a picture of the one I have:

That said, I'm also glad we're getting a functional tea set in the game. I've always wanted that.
It's real??? :open_mouth:
Oh wow. I'm going to have to track one down. That's awesome @Stormkeep
