"No longer getting invites" isn't a bug in my book. Those phone calls are disruptive and immersion-breaking, especially when they come from a Sim who, according to the story and personality I've imagined for them, wouldn't be caught dead at that particular type of event. Not everyone is a partier IRL, and the same is true of Sims! I hope the "fix" includes a toggle.
