No more free grub?

I think Sims are still putting grilled food in their inventory when it’s finished, instead of on the table. It was a recent bug from one of the patches. I thought it had been fixed, but they are still doing that in my game.

I had noticed my own Sims putting the food in the inventories but I thought it was just because there was no available surface outside. This stinks I just started my first Rags to Riches and there's no free food at the park.

LittleMsSam mods has one where a sim will put a grilled meal down on a surface instead of placing it in their inventory.

It bums me out townies usually don't put their grilled park food on tables anymore, I used to depend on that for my R2R Sims. They sometimes still will do it, but it's rare. If you're lucky, sometimes you can catch one of them grilling and start chatting them up. It's been my experience, they'll stop grilling and eventually walk away. Your Sim can then finish grilling the food for free!

Sometimes too you can catch them grabbing a serving from their own inventory to eat after grilling and do the same thing. Start chatting with them as they stand there or sit at a table. They'll stop eating or not even start to eat if you're quick about it and then just snatch the plate from them. lol

One time my ER2R Sim boldly just grabbed a bowl of food from a Townie at a festival they'd just bought and were getting ready to enjoy and ate it in front of them. o.O Opps! Lately though, I haven't been bothering to do any of that, my Sims just eat harvestables once they begin to grow.

They can go a lonnnng time without eating, at least a 1-1/2 to 2 days. That's plenty of time for your Sim to stay overnight in a park and then grab some fruit/veggies in the morning after 5 a.m. They'll complain/whine, but they won't die. ;) Or you could just use the aforementioned mod, that's cool. I just don't use mods so I've had to be a bit savvy about how to feed my R2R Sims. :)

I see townies setting food on picnic tables quite often.

I still get hem doing it, just not to severe because before...they were CONSTANTLY grilling and filling the tables with food and not eating any of it. Hadn't noticed they fixed it til I looked around and didn't see that severe amount of food on tables that would go bad and the only one eating them was stray cats.

all my sims keep putting grilled food in their inventories until interrupted when they got the food in hand and before they put it away. it doesn't always stop them from putting it away, but more often than not that is the issue.

Sometimes i cook some grilled food and put it out for other sims, usually one plateful is enough, but that depends if there is a nearby food or drink stand serving as well. Quite often with those food stands, the sim in question orders their food and takes their time and eat and drink but plates, glasses and cups of leftover drink are left laying around on the ground.

so two issues there that should be dealt with by the developers, hopefully. one to get sims to put food out and another to get sims to clean up after themselves in public areas.

Try looking in some of the city areas if you have city living. Lately my public city areas are littered with plates of food, coffees, and cupcakes (especially the art district).

My sims are still putting grilled food in their inventories. Its so annoying.
