No New Years Countdown Option

I got my Sims all settled around the TV for New Year's Eve and had them "watch the New Years Channel" thinking it was the Countdown, but it never fulfilled the requirement to watch the Countdown. I wa...

This happened to me too. I kept clicking on the TV even after midnight and the option popped up at around 1 am.
