I think there's a slight inconsistency here. While you can age up a sim using a birthday cake, you can't give them a birthday party, if that's not really their birthday. That was a huge disappointment.I wanted to age my teen vampire into a young adult, because I got bored with her having to go to school. There were still several simdays before she would age up naturally. I wanted her to have a birthday party, but I ended up having a house party with a birthday cake.Why can't we have a birthday party to age up a sim, who's not aging yet? I mean, if we're allowed to decided, when our sims age up, we should be allowed to give them a proper party.

I haven't come across this problem before, but I see what you mean. Key words here are "if we're allowed to decide" unfortunately this is a growing trend with TS4. Makes u wonder what happened to the concept "You Rule"

Why couldn't you throw a birthday party ? Last time I checked, it let me choose whose birthday it was when launching the party.

Yes, I guess that's true. Kind of annoying. Although, still nice that we can age sims up, whenever we want, even if they don't get a proper party.

I threw a birthday party for my vampire sim 10 days before they were gonna.age up. I was able to have a birthday party just fine

That's interesting. This was the first time I was ever trying to have a birthday party in TS4, so I just kind of expected it to be normal. So, it's a bug then, but a bug that doesn't affect everyone.
