No option to bake a birthday cake.

Been forcing my sim dude to level up baking and new options appear each time he levels but it's never the birthday cake. He's not the dad. The dad moved out. Now when he clicks on the stove the dad's name comes up and the game asks me if I want to hire dad as a, I forgot, baker or caterer or something. Why would the game want to hire my played sim? That might turn my played sim into a townie? Why wont it let the live in roommate cook a cake?

The birthday girl is an infant newborn I just wanted to get things ready. Is it because she's a vampire? An immortal?
