Yes, they were freshly caught. And half of them could be stored in the fridge. Could the size have anything to say? No point storing too small fish?
Edit: I think you got a point @NorthDakotaGamer The fish still in the inventory has "Foul" quality. I don't know if that is so because they now have been in inventory for a couple simdays, or if fish caught when fishing skills are low will be foul. Those in the fridge is up to Excellent, so I assume it's a random thing when fishing, as the sim catching them i a very poor Angler (still catching Excellent quality can't be because of his skills).
