The complaint about aliens, and mermaids are that they were in expansion packs not game packs.Asking why didn't they have a whole pack dedicated to them.Like vampires or spellcasters?Well for two reason.Unlike vampires, and spellcasters.There is not a lot of lore they could use to make their own pack.Some because of time you will get less ocults if they were only in gamepacks.If mermaids , robots, and aliens we're not added in their respective pack.I don't think we would get them at all.

I think aliens and mermaids could have had enough lore to give them their own packs and talent trees like the vampires and spellcasters had. They just didn't want to, and they could add them in with the packs that they did so they didn't have to flesh them out more. It's less work for them this way and we didn't have to wait as long for them to make different separate packs to include them. Aliens and GTW were the first additions to TS4 also (to be fair). The GP idea for occult only for them likely wasn't ready yet. Mermaids made sense to be included in IL but it is a shame that they didn't add a bit more to them.

Aliens aren't complete. I wish they would've kept the powers they had in TS3 and built on them. They should not just be blue or green colored Sims, they are different. Also in TS3 if a male married a female alien she could impregnate him. No can do in TS4. So nope, aliens are not complete. They could've done more. I do love that we get to go to Sixam, just wish we could've kept the space ship from TS3 it was awesome.

And don't get me started with what they did with plant Sims. Ugggh. TS2 and TS3 combined would've been fine for that occult.

I LOVED that spaceship from TS3 and I was sorely disappointed when I found out that TS4 aliens had less than TS3... ~~(shouldn't the next iteration expand on the last? Oh wait, TS4...)~~

I didn't know about the impregnate bit with the females marrying males though, so now I have a reason to go back and play some more! :) Thanks for the tip!

Any female can impregnate any male in TS4 - just take them into CAS (I think it works with 'Change Sim'?) and change the gender options. (You don't have to change the gender or anything else - just tick the box for 'can get others pregnant' on the female Sim and 'can get pregnant' on the male Sim.)

A whole pack could have been built around mermaids. Underwater worlds, Atlantis, ship wrecking lore, finally sailboats in the game, mermaids could sing and wreck into rocks. Taking the Sim to the underworld. Choices or trinkets to stay on land or in the water. And there are many folklore sea witches and beasts. Mermaids supposedly have more powers than they were given in the pack.

Mermaids definitely ain't complete. If occults are MEANT to come with skill trees, and they are best when they do, why don't mermaid get one?

We could easily have plenty of skills for mermaids, like one perk being weather manipulation, singing to lure sims and make them fall in love with you, stealing the voices of others, turning others into mermaids by bubble kisses, wooing sims into your bed, perfect swimming ability, pet dolphin, use all things mermaid get in IL and turn it into a skill tree, and add new ones too, like the ones I mentioned. Create an underwater world, like Sulani, but only 2-3 above land lots, and make the rest underwater, and only mermaids can visit/live there. You can EASILY flesh out mermaids to be a GP.
Aliens maybe not a whole GP, but easily a small skill tree. take the current skills, plus the ability to insta-impregante other sims with clones of you, turning other sims into Aliens, teleporting... so many skills and alien could have, and you think they're fine?

Occult players definitely don't consider aliens or mermaids any where near as good as others think. they have so much potential, but it was squandered.
