Actually it seems only the Get to Work careers still have the emotion "requirements". I checked with several non-active careers and a City Living "semi-active" career. No emotional "requirements" any more.
Just wanted to chime in here, this is By Design...We removed the emotional requirements for promotions for most careers except for the "active" careers such as the ones in the Get to Work EP, that said sending a sim to work in a positive emotion will still help boost that sims jobs performance but it is not a Requirement
Ah no, no, no, more simply, more easy, no challenge... it is bore!
I’ve honestly never noticed that much of a difference between a happy or (an example) inspired sim when it comes to a career, and it was basically almost impossible to keep a sim in the right mood for an entire work shift anyway (yoga and the special bathtub soaks worked.) I really hate this idea that something being more complicated makes it better. I honestly didn’t even buy this game until they realized that the friend requirements were unreasonable.
The emotional states did seem to make the progress bar move faster when they worked hard. At least, it seemed that way to me. A happy chef working hard didn't progress as fast as an inspired one, for example.
