I have 2 sims in University. They didn't miss one class, did all of their homework and all projects completed! What's more is they are both maxed in all skills! ALL SKILLS!!! AND NOW THEY ARE BOTH ON ...

You got me there. I didn't know you could take notes in class. Though, as you say, I don't think that would result in a failing grade not to take notes. But I agree, it does seem to be a rotational bug.
Taking notes does seem to be enough to compensate for being late to class, so maybe? (Was late, got a 'did not do as much as others' feedback message at the end of class, reloaded, tried again, still late but took notes and this time 'did great sure to do well on exam' feedback message).
