Now that sims can gain new traits, anyone know what to do to possible obtain klepto trait?

I haven't had the trait pop up out of the blue, but I do have one sim that I've played between two households so far, and I would keep noticing random decor and items going missing on the lot where she was and eventually found those things in her inventory. She even walked off with her previous household's boat. She still has it in her inventory, doesn't even live in Sulani anymore. And that poor family just doesn't have a boat.

I feel like it'll probably eventually pop up with her lol.

it hasnt happened to me yet either. ive gotten other traits before but not that one. hopefully someone will know something. good luck

I’d be interested to know what traits Sims can self discover and what ones they probably cannot…

I’ve had Sims discover Neat, Active and Proper so far.

Not sure it’s possible, the only way to swipe stuff is with the trait. Maybe it’s possible if you create a club with swiping objects as a club activity. I checked, it’s under mischief and mayhem. Good luck to anyone trying

I though we could, I've noticed if I go fishing in a good mood I'll get adventurous after, or if I stay outdoor for a long time, loves outdoor will pop up. But of course I can't be 100% sure

That's a good idea actually, I have to try that out :)

When I was playing Eliza Pancakes through the super rich supervillain scenario, I enacted the Sharing Is Caring NAP in her neighborhood. (They never had anyone over, they just went to others' houses and swiped stuff.)
Somehow, after enough swiping using Sharing Is Caring, Eliza developed the ability to swipe anywhere, like any sim who had the klepto trait. (She didn't.)
I'm not sure if this was a bug, or by design, but I do wonder if swiping in this way might trigger a kleptomaniac self discovery for you?

I had a sim with a couple of money trees, and when she harvested from them one morning, she was offered the kleptomaniac trait.
