Now, That's Just Messed Up!

It's Winterfest in my game. There are four Child Sims, a Toddler Sim and one infant. Since the infants are merely objects, I'm not too concerned about that. However, the four eldest Child Sims had their chance to 'ask for present' from Father Winter. Even some of the YAs and Teens, too. However, little Andrew must have asked at least five times. Father Winter would gaze at him, as if he heard the request, but I'm thinking he can't interpret Babble. At any rate, I did a debug on Father Winter, hoping it was just him. No, that didn't get little Andrew the gift he so sweetly asked for. Instead, it merely sent Father Winter on his escape route, via the parents' bedroom fireplace.

Poor, wee Andrew. I feel so sorry for the little guy. And this isn't the first of my Toddler Sims who got dissed by Father Winter. I think he should be able to understand Babble. It's just another language, or almost language, after all. The general gist should be well understood. I say we all Protest Father Winter. We'll show him by not inviting him to Winterfest from here on out. What do you say, are you with me?
  • I have had that problem for a while now I can never get a toddler to receive a gift from him. It has to be a bug in the game. All the other age groups get one but for some reason the toddlers don't get one. It has done it on every save I have.

I'm with you, don't invite him. He had his chance and now blow it. He should under stand the babble he's supposed to be all jolly and at one with kids and babies lol xD

It was just so sad. The Tot kept persevering, but his older siblings, at one point, jumped in front of him in a line, then Winter was distracted, You name it, the baby kept babbling his request. Poor little dude.

Put Father Santa in the pool. That ought to do it.

Well, that would be different. Pool is in the basement, so it's not likely to be as cold, but the clothing he wears would surely cause him to drown. Besides, how would one do that? We can't control him, unless we somehow decide he should move in. Ah, no thank you.
  • @Renee030303 Yes, this is the family I have played multiple times over. I've had to restart, taking Erik back to his teens and watch him rise in fame. I keep getting stopped shy of my goal, which is why I keep playing him. the eldest of his children in the save that went kablooey on me were Teens, the next younger two were Child Sims and if memory serves (yeah, it's been that long ago) the baby, Cadence, had just aged up to Child. Been trying to get back to that point for the past two years. Suffer me to say, I hate Patches. And I make a back-up of my saves, too. Weird things just keep happening. I'm beginning to think a Gremlin lives in my computer, just to thwart me.

Father Winter isn't all he is hyped up to be lol! He gave my sim's toddler and child (both siblings) who are so cute and sweet 1 large pet poop each. They were devastated.

He knows when you've been sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake. Coal in the stocking is traditional, but maybe the price of coal is just too high?

I would just buy something for the kiddos, stuff it in the parent's inventory, and gift it. Leave it to a woman- even your mother- to clean up a man's mess. :p

I just delete all of the holidays, tho. My Sims are usually survivalists with no sense of a world beyond their own adventures.

No, it's up to the woman to train her husband. Mine has gone from leaving a trail of his shirt and socks from the front door to our bedroom, to leaving his dirty socks on the floor next to the hamper, to finally in the hamper. See? They can be trained. LOL I just would let him know I wasn't his mother. We've been married, now, for forty-eight years. :)

Now, that is truly messed up. I seem to recall that Toddlers in my game did receive a gift, but I would have to see if I took pictures.
