Object attraction is so frustrating...

...and makes no sense.

Why should my neat, genius outdoor loving sim who is very focused suddenly break off from a chess game and run all the way across a lot to play a guitar? I tried to cancel the interaction, but no, now they have the guitar skill. This is one example of the 1000s I have encountered in this game

I have seen many, many threads complaining about moodlet mechanic, but I find the massive object attraction way more gamebreaking.

Two romantic sims on a date, romance bar in the sweet zone. Time for that first kiss. Never mind that, they need to run and run with joy to the nearest chess board :/

Makes me grind my teeth

Here's a new one - my Sims, getting out of bed when I have put them to sleep to go downstairs to appreciate a furnishing in a style they like. I mean, it's nice that they appreciate the houses I put them in but no - your Energy bar is amber. Go to bed and sleep until it is full!

Hahaha! Yeah something like that has happened to me a few times! :D

Me: "Nooo! Go back to bed, you have to work in 4 hours." :p

I will be honest though, if I'm controlling a sim or sims directly for some purpose, I may turn off autonomy for "active sim" for whatever sim I have active. The others can do what they want. The pause feature is my best friends. Me: "Ok, lets see what everyone is doing... Ok you! Get off the swings and go pee." :p
  • I put a suggestion in the feedback forum a week or three back asking for the autonomy options to be moved to the main UI. If you want fine grained control, it is a real pain and really immersion breaking to have to pause the game to go into the options screen.

Make a big difference, I reckon, if you could toggle autonomy options while you are playing.

Thread is here if anyone is interested:

  • My Genius that Loves Outdoors and Music can't finish a painting without repeatedly stopping to use the basketball hoop. The only way I can prevent this behavior is to queue up several tasks before the basketball hoop calls to him.

I've watched several Sims to see what they do after they stop painting to play basketball for a few seconds. It's a loop - wash hands, browse a book, play chess, troll the forums if they have access to a computer, talk to a plant or chat with a household member, and dance.
