Objects getting recoloured with other objects' patterns??

I'm having an issue with objects getting recoloured at random using another objects pattern (texture may be a more appropriate word choice...). Below is an example of it happening to some planters. If you look at the middle picture, you'll see that it has the pattern from the message board in the CL apartment (the message board is shown on the left). On the right is what happens when I move my mouse over it-it returns to the colour I set for it.

If I go into BB, I can change the colours to something else and they'll stick for a bit and then when they start messing up, I can change them back to what I originally had, but that's kind of annoying as sometimes there aren't other colours that fit with the decour.

I've had this issue with the following objects (and likely some others that I'm not remembering):
-the vertical planters
-the Scout board
-the conveyor belt on the recycling machine
-the flower arranging table
-the edge of paintings that my Sims have made

I don't remember when I first noticed it and it isn't the end of the world, but it is a bit annoying. Has it happened to anyone else and have you found a fix?
