Obsessed with Sims' Needs

One thing that I find strange about my game, is that I hardly ever take my sims places and do special things because of their needs. Maybe it's just because I'm obsessed and always try to fix them when the need slightly lowers, or could it be that needs decrease so quickly. Is anyone else having this problem?

Also is there a cheat that can stop needs from decreasing?

All the cheats have been mentioned, but there are also reward traits that decrease or eliminate needs, and you can put food in their inventory (cooked food will go bad, but harvestables won't.) Depending on the packs you have, there are the portable beds too, the waterfall-in-a-bottle for hygiene, books and the tablet (and probably other things) for fun. Social usually isn't a problem. Can't think of portable toilets, but there are toilets at most destination places. And you can always edit the places that they go.

Bushes from JA and GT are not portable but they are useful.

There is no toilet on Sixam or Sylvan Glade, and you can't edit those places to add one. So, if you're spending a bit of time in those places (to wait for plants to spawn, or fishing in Sylvan Glade, for example), you're either going to have to leave the lot or buy the 'steel bladder' (if you've got enough points). I did add a public toilet to the lot from which Sylvan Glade is accessed, so that my Sims could do their business and go right back, but it's a bit annoying to have to pack up camp all the time. The game really needs a portable toilet.

Other needs are fairly easy to handle - most venues have a place to get food, and you can always put a cooler or some fruit in your Sims' inventories. You can carry a tent, or just have a Sim nap on a park bench. The portable shower takes care of hygiene.

Personally, I don't like using cheats to alter needs - to me, that's sort of the 'game' part of the game. I wouldn't mind a cheat that would just solve the toilet need, since I see this as a problem with the game itself, but I'd rather have a porta-potty.

you can still set a bush as head and reset your sim on sixam I guess.
  • Unconventional solution but what works for my gameplay is to slow down time with MCC. Needs do not decay slower but I have time to tend to them AND do more things in the same day.

A sim has one hour before work: before I had to decide between food and shower. Now I can do both and more.
  • When I played Sims 2 for the first time, there was a device I could attach to the wall; it would max out their needs automatically. I wish there was something like that for Sims 4.
