a vampire/spellcaster pairing could be mostly okay, since spellcasters don't have a second form (two occults with those can break all kinds of things). just be aware that you'll never see the vampire upgrade options, as that panel gets overridden by the spellcaster one. (you can cheat in the various perks and weaknesses, though, if you know the commands for them, typically hidden trait ones)

the only occult pairing that seems to have no glitches or anything is alien/spellcaster. the former doesn't have unique needs or changes to their needs panel, the latter doesn't have a secondary form, so they play together quite nicely. all the other options run the gamut from 'mildly messed up' to 'absolutely cannot work together' (seeing a mermaid hybrid trying to walk showcases the latter pretty well)

Unfortunately, Alien/Spellcaster does have one glitch, though it's not a major one. You can't change both their forms in CAS. I forget which way it works, but for one form (I want to say their "disguise") you can change in CAS when selecting the hybrid sim, and the other form you have to go into CAS with a different member of the household active.

Now, I had the disguise up full time, so turning the disguise on and off could work too. But you can't change both the disguise and the alien form during the same CAS session.
