  • Considering the Werewolves can actually eat the hidden lab door, can they also eat the Motherplant. If they can eat the Motherplant, please don't fix that one. :p

The August 30 patch did tune down idle phone use for non-teen sims. I notice a difference. If you haven't updated since Aug 30 you might try that and see what you think.

Thanks for tip but my issue is that I haven’t been playing for a few months, so coming from literally no obsessive phone use to constant phone use is for me, utterly frustrating and disgusting.

  • It is important to note that this patch could also add something new. They don't mention this in the laundry list. I hope this patch adds an Attraction Feature.

I have updated my game. My sims are still constantly on their phone. Just now my sim pulled out his phone between introducing himself to a new sim and starting the conversation, making him basically a rude sim who doesn't know how to talk to other people. Last night he checked his phone while walking over to his bed, as I had instructed him. That time I guess he was telling me as a player that he is bored with the task I gave him. And I just witnessed an npc taking out her phone between ordering a drink at a bar and receiving this drink. It feels like all my sims care about is their phone, not the story I want them to live.

Oh, I forgot to mention why I first did not notice this 'fix' in the patch notes. The constant phone use is a bug introduced to all players but the fix in the patch notes for August 30th is only mentioned in high school years. Since I don't have that pack, the phone usage in my game might not be toned down at all. Besides toning this annoyance down is not fixing it, it should be completely removed or made optional.

I also don't want the phone use to merely be "toned down". I want my sims to NOT use their phones unless I tell them to use it. That's why I use Bienchen's mod so they won't be using it autonomously. Its really a blessing, and I can't thank Bienchen enough for ALL her mods that I use. They stop all the nonsense I don't want to see in my game.

For anyone who use mods and don't have this one yet, you can find it here. It is currently at the top of the page, as one of the last updated.

Thank you for the mod. Since the devs show no sign of removing this bug, I will go install this mod.

Thank you sweets, I tried finding one that worked. Found two different ones but none really worked so my frustration grew stronger.
Will try this one! Really appreciate it! Again, thank you :)
  • This is the mod that I'm using for the phone issue... https://www.patreon.com/posts/phone-animation-69941573

It tones down the phone for all the adult stages but still allows it a bit more for teens. It's by MissyHissy and can be found on her patreon page just incase anybody wants it and doesn't like clicking links.
  • I use this one by lazarusinashes and it works like a charm: https://lazarusinashesmods.tumblr.com/post/691129246640472064/no-constant-phone My adult sims don't touch their phones unless I tell them to. The teens will still briefly take it out to take a selfie or text, similar to the way they did before the update that caused all this.
