Maybe we get two patches -- a big bug fix patch early in the month, then late in the month we get the free content plus whatever bug fixes didn't make the early one. It could be that the EA Extermination Squad are trying to squish as many bugs as possible in the next patch, especially if there is paid content on the horizon.
