To be fair, we only see sims using the ladder to go down I think 2 (or 3) times in the trailer. And all those times they slide so either that's all they can do or maybe there is a hidden skill that makes them slide down if they get better at using the ladder? I think it's wishful thinking though. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they took the easier way out and just made a static slide animation for sims to go down the ladder...
