I just saw the Twitter post. There's good and bad to them being a new life stage but babies are still objects which is what we have been complaining about lmao.

I don't know if any of us knows exactly how this NEW LIFE STAGE will be implemented. Most are just speculating, some of which may well turn out to be close to what's going to happen. Or it's way off. All we know for CERTAIN, is that there is going to be a new life stage added to the game. Infants who can crawl, sit and are untethered. We will all know once the team drops the patch that contains them.

I just know I'm excited.

Babies will still be objects but what people have been wanting freed babies to be able to do, the new infant stage will do

If they're giving us another life stage for infants I wonder if they're gonna also do pre-teen for the child stage. Probably asking for a bit much there, but just wondering.

That is super exciting, I thought they were just gonna free the babies. I can't wait to see what it will look like and play out to be. I haven't played this game since June and these new announcements have sparked my interest in the game again. I hope they continue to keep us informed of these developments.

I know this Team didn't have as much time as other Teams for earlier iterations, to create this game. They started out as a possible online entity, (which in my mind would be very limiting), which switched gears part way through to the single player game it is now. All life Stages were touted to be included, up front. Then just days before the release, we got word Toddlers weren't going to be part of the base game upon release after all. I paid close attention to the wording of this message. While others complained we'd never see Toddlers, I reiterated what part of that message was. The Team didn't want to include them until they were completed. If you play with Toddlers in your game, you know what a fantastic a job they did.

Now, I don't know for a certainty, but given that bit of Sims4 history, and my recollection of a thread asking us what we wanted in babies, I look forward to how they handled this. I saw that very short clip at the end of the after summit event video. I can't stop thinking about it and am over here instead of playing my game, even though I mostly decided to try a Scenario just for grins and giggles to help while away the time.

Why wait? Just have more babies later.

But, I love all of Erik's babies and I want to really get the most out of this new life stage. I'm just going to keep myself occupied for now, playing a very slow version of my Ancestral game save, which I'm newly setting up. Wish me luck. I'm a very impatient person. LOL

They mentioned "early in 2023". Not sure how early is early.

Sims team is on break during those holidays, wouldn’t expect an update those days. I’d say middle week of January or first week of February.

Not likely, though I thank you for the support. As stated above, the Team takes a break for the Holiday, and I don't begrudge them it. I just hope early means January. And certainly no later than the beginning of March.
