- RememberJoy7 years agoSeasoned AceMy thoughts on this, being the pack is titled "Realm Of Magic", is that there will be a new life state simply labeled 'magic user' or something more creative. Then we can decorate them into whatever magic user we want. Fairy wings, pointy ears, warts, etc.
Then there will be a power tree like the one in Vampires where you can pick and choose what kind of magic your sim will have. A fairy could choose the gift of flight, witches could choose potions or spells, elves could choose nature magic. Or you could mix them all up and create whatever kind of magic user you can imagine (within limits of course)!
At least that's what I'm hoping for. "jcp011c2;c-17096861" wrote:
Makin' magic but I hope they can really do well with the witches - which I'm thinking should be in there? I can't imagine them doing a magic GP and then also a separate witches GP.
Yeah I think witches will be in no matter the theme since it is magic pack"RememberJoy;c-17096881" wrote:

actually that is rather genius i was always having struggle picking between magic lifestates- I want, like, unpredictable irony witch.
I want sims to be able to make deals with witches and have them go bad, or cross witches and get disproportionately punished, or something. I basically want capricious fairytale witches. Good/Bad isn't quite the vibe (as I would want to have to choose whether my witch could bless or curse people - I'd want her to try for the one she wants and it might backfire and do the opposite).
Basically I want to be a fairytale witch. Steal babies and raise them in towers because a sim is your enemy or didn't pay you for your services. Curse babies because same. People come to you because they're seeking wealth, or want a child, or want to improve their relationships, and they might get what they want or they might start slowly turning to gold or have instant triplets and they're cursed or become repulsive to everyone.
A lot of people want the Harry Potter experience but I want more the Ursula the Sea Witch or Mother Gothel experience, lol. Or straight up Brother's Grimm. Good witch/bad witch doesn't really cover it, because I don't want it to be about good or evil as much as it is about karmic justice and trickster chaos. "Gordy;c-17096823" wrote:
I loved the idea of both good and bad magic, but I feel like that will be replicated without the classifications. At any rate, I can make my sims good or evil witches based on traits, physical appearance and the spells I'll have them use.
Fantasy is great, but Makin' Magic went crazy with the spells. You could turn sims into toads, turn pets into people, have magic duels, and tons of crazy stuff. Plus, I'm sure you guys probably guessed, I want my boy Torch back.
YES makin' magic was epic in so many ways I do wish they add at least some of it in the new pack- Karamazov1237 years agoSeasoned Ace

I have no clue who Torch is, so I can’t really say anything about that, lol.
Let me educate you, boi. Sims 1 dragons are the best.
In Makin' Magic, you could buy a dragon egg. Depending on how you care for the egg, you'll get one of three dragons: Torch (purple dragon, very nice and well-behaved. Best boy), Pyrite (gold dragon, also a good boy), and Burnie (red dragon, he sets things on fire and is a good boy.) They walk around lots, sleep in their own little nests/cribs and generally act similar to the cats and dogs we have now, except they don't take a slot in the household.
They have their own toys and can be fed treats, but can also eat flowers, garbage, and sims that have been turned into toads. If you neglect them too much, they might set items on fire. They could even set visiting sims on fire, so they can be used to protect your house.
Sims 3 also had dragons, but they were basically just reskinned birds. Super lame. "Ivyeyed;c-17096897" wrote:

Interesting take I do wish for more curses and spells that are unique because all that ''deprive needs'' and whatnot is just not fun enough"Gordy;c-17096923" wrote:

THIS ON SO MANY LEVELS sims 3 dragons really did not deliver- Who cares? It's MAGIC! I want it and I want it yesterday!
Of course, some Harry Potter elements would be nice, and a magic school when we get uni would be sick, but I'm happy for anything!
Though I suppose if we're making requests/speculating, msuhroom houses, cute wooden furniture with flowers and moss growing on it, some sweet fairy looks, some gothic stuff, dark/good magic depending on the Sim...

Cool. :) Hope is they introduce the dragons, that they are as well done or better than in Sims 1 and better than Sims 3.
I’ve never played with any of the dragons in any of the Sims games, and I’m not a big dragon fan, but I hope you get your Torch boy one day. ??
