old thread

I just thought it would be a fun thread to make! I don't think it exists elsewhere but correct me if I'm wrong by all means.. Also feel free to attach cute pics of your spooked and enamored pets! I love 'em. I don't have any to show yet.

My sim Irving's boxer dog named Sarg' (Sgt. Chalky) is terrified of the bath tub. Every time Irving has a bath he shivers and pants and cowers, it's so bad he has to go and sulk in the living room for a while after to calm down! I'm not sure whether it's the bath tub, or the sight of poor Irving nude in it that's truly scaring him. :D

I haven't discovered any obsessions of his yet, I'm looking forward to it though. He's my favourite doggo so far.

  • My shiba inu, Santi is obsessed with the bath and the toilet. She also seems to like barking at the dishwasher whenever it's turned on, but I'm not sure if she's scared or mesmerized, as either way she won't leave it alone until it's finished its cycle.
  • I had a dog, Local Weed Man, who as far as I can tell is scared of desk chairs, and Snailbert who is obsessed with the refrigerator and lays by it all day. Snailbert is also very clingy though so he has to choose between his master and the fridge if they're not in the same room.

My cats Carl and Saucy Gal don't appear to have made any fears or obsessions yet but I also haven't played with em real long yet due to issues with my computer not liking running SIms 4

    > @ChampandGirlie They're some great pet matches you've made! They all seem to really suit the premades. :) That's odd! My pet wasn't at all scared or developed any fears after the vets - though he didn't have a shot/neuter so maybe those are the keys.. He was pretty bummed about wearing a cone tho'! At least it makes sense for a cat to be afraid of the shower - put my cat (IRL) in ear shot of any water and she's gone like a bullet! :D

    > You have a good point. I've never known a real cat that actually liked the shower. I've seen cats who liked drinking dripping water from a faucet but not showers or baths. I'll probably find out more about other phobias as I play them more. Maybe there are things that I should be doing to work through their fears, I don't know.

I probably have 20 or 25 households so there are many opportunities for pets (though not all houses will get them; Elsa Bjergsen is a single doctor working long hours so she's an example of someone who won't get a pet unless her lifestyle changes).

I once had a cat that would try to get in the shower with you. She'd hate it once you'd let her in and would act like you betrayed her when she got wet, though, like she wasn't the one meowing to be let in. My grandpa has a cat that likes to play in the bathtub if there's a couple inches of water. He doesn't like it if it gets deep though
  • My beagle Charlie has the jumpy trait. He's scared of the dishwasher, TV, bath and shower. He's obsessed with the fridge, toilet and portable keyboard (he loves the keyboard the most :| always looking at it or lying next to it ) Although I've noticed that when he gets scared by something he'll go into the bathroom and look at the toilet... almost like for reassurance, heh.
  • My new kitten is terrified of the tv. I haven't figured out yet what she's obsessed with. I ended up just deleting the tv and having the family do basketball and yoga for fun. I don't want to terrify the poor little kitty!
  • My dog loves swimming. Put a pool in the back yard and pretty much the first thing he does every morning is run out there and go for a swim. He's out there swimming by himself 3-4 times per day, lol.
