The little short tail is fine with me. A tail would be cute for about five seconds. Then it would be problematic for animation and the clipping through the clothes would drive me crazy. It would also be a problem when they sat down - there'd be tails sticking through the back of chairs, couches, and even vanishing into walls. :s
It's a human-shaped werewolf with human shaped legs; a little stub of a tail makes sense. I'm glad we got that little nub, actually. It makes that lower body just a bit animalistic, without messing up anything else.
So no, I'm fine with what we got. I think they made a smart choice.
