I am a family player. That's pretty much all I do in The Sims ... build houses and play families.
I don't mind things like aliens/vampires in my game. I actually prefer it to some extent. I don't play them a whole lot, but I do like the fact that vampires were really in depth. Aliens were kind of lame, but I actually find myself enjoying playing vampire Sims.
I want to list a couple of things though:
1. I think there should be a slider bar for the ratio of Sim townies to supernatural. With each new addition of supernatural, I would like to see an update in the game menu. Maybe I want 100% vampire townies? Maybe I want 100% normal Sims? Maybe I want 50% aliens, 25% vampires, and 25% normal Sims?
2. I don't think people should be saying, "Don't like it? Don't buy it!" The pack itself offers stuff outside of just vampires. There are build/buy objects that people want to use. I think we should encourage EA to create a game that is tailored towards user customisation. We shouldn't tell people not to buy the pack if they don't like every aspect of it. I get it, vampires is the main reason for this GP in the first place, but we should accept that not everyone wants vampires in their game, and that should be perfectly fine.
We should want/encourage fellow Simmers to express their wants for the game, irregardless of them rejecting certain styles of gameplay in favour of another.
The Sims should never have a linear focus, or only allow one type of gameplay. It should be customisable to the user. That is always what made the game great to begin with. It's supposed to be about storytelling, and not everyone wants to tell the same story.
We should all want more choices in The Sims instead of taking them away.
