Option to disable vampires?

Yes there were people who asked for abductions to be completely done away with. It got to the point that a couple of players were actually saying the abductions were akin to their Sim being molested in an unsavory way.

I suppose I wouldn't be bothered if there was a toggle, it might be completely impossible the way the game is coded, or it may be more possible than making it an open world after all this time. Though I really hope there isn't any toning down some are seeing way more vampires than I am so it could be a slight glitch that needs to be tweaked however I would hate thinking I paid for vampires and then they were accidentally tweaked too much. Comparing them to aliens a lot of people saw way more activity from them than I did but I did see some now I only get them if I add them in and there aren't any abductions at the moment, they were just an add on so fine. I remember in TS3 a lot of simmers had my issue with the toggles, turned everything off but all it did was shrink the amount that spawned leading to more routing issues making the toggle pointless. I was thinking it was nice that they got their own pack so anyone who didn't want them could just save themselves the twenty bucks and not have them at all ah well. Sure I understand but at the same time they were not just an add-on.

Alien abduction was hard as heck for me to trigger. Took me weeks to get it for one specific sim, then all my other abductions were random after that. Cue my disappointment that it is the same impregnator.

Personally im a firm believer in keeping it as it is. Its a pack about vampires, not just vampires on the side. I haven't even seen vampires walking down the regular lots and I had to go initiate finding them. Vampires appear at your house once YOU build up the vampire lore skill and seek them out.

Haven't seen any spawners, but I dont doubt it. But tbh i don't even see vampires biting anyone. Occasional power use but that's it.

I'm neutral on toggles but I don't want it to cut on the quality of content i paid for. Also its just a bit silly imo. Its a vampire pack... I know not everyone wants them in each files but you can probably get mods for that or just ignore them. Its not like sims 3.

I really want to know how many actually had someone knocked up every night. :o As that was the complaint back then. It takes three days to have the Sim baby so I doubt they were being re abducted while pregnant. And I would like to know how many of those players actually had mods installed which possibly interfered with the game and caused some of their problems. Because each time I asked someone here did they have a mod installed they would never answer me. It's a simple no and that would have sufficed.

Having to run them down isn't the answer, that takes away from the surprise and shock of aliens abducting.

ETA: I mainly play males in my game 85-99% always. Always have. Only one male ever got pregnant and that was because he was building a rocket. And since he was Doctor Who, it seemed to fit. lol

There's always going to be all-or-nothing in their stance. But Sims have always been about storytelling. Maybe I want a vampire story. Maybe I want an alien story, but maybe that's not ALL I want.

"Get it only if you like vampires." I do like vampires. But not in EVERY story. Maybe I want to play a GTW doctor and his family, but I don't want a green child. How is this concept so hard to understand? You guys are basically wanting a free-for-all, but many simmers want more control over their stories than that. Some want all, some want nothing, and some just want balance. We can go in circles for months about this, but it doesn't change that. Which is why people are asking for toggles. You want vampires with total autonomy? Great, have fun. But then don't get up in arms when others ask for some way to tone it down.

I played GTW when it first came out. It was pretty darn constant. The minute my main guy gave birth, he was abducted again that same night.

It is balanced when you think of the population. Three vamps (generated) in my game ( I turned one of them) and the population is over 200 Sims/Townies. That seems like it's actually being unfair to a vamp population. If we are going to talk about balance.

I don't understand how IF they did create a toggle, how does this affect YOU? Just leave it alone...lol.

the problem is that they already stated that they won't do toggles. As for asking them to be toned down - how is it acceptable that THE ONLY FEATURE OF THE PACK gets toned down because players that DON'T WANT VAMPIRES IN THEIR GAME bought a very specifically VAMPIRE PACK?
