Packs lack basic kid and tot items
I know it's a common rant that we need generations and as much as I absolutely think we do need a pack akin to that for sims 4, this isn't about that. Rather, I'm just frustrated by the general lack of kids and toddler furniture for even the most basic things in packs. I understand that family play is a bit niche and that there are players who don't want tons of new items to revolve around young sims, but I feel like we hardly ever get even 3 items for this category in a pack. We almost always get only decor but no interactive items.
This is for even just basic reskins of already coded items. For example, the last new toddler bed we got was in ecolifestyle in 2020. That was two years ago. I'm not saying we need a new toddler bed every pack, but we just got dream home decorator and the only kid item that came with was the play tent. We got some single beds, but those aren't necessarily kid specific even. We couldn't even get a toddler bed or bassinet for a game based on decorating with furniture? Even just things like Cottage Living. That would have been the perfect opportunity to take the giant Teddy and give it a cow reskin, or take the dollhouse and make one that looks like a barn. It would be nice if we got the occasional new toddler potty, toy chest, or swing set.
As it stands, I feel like I've exhausted every interactive item for kids and tots and decorated with every possible furniture piece. It's hard to feel fresh. I'm stuck decorating with the same basic, limited items. It would be nice to have a few reskins so I'm not using the same looking toys for skill building every single time. Even wallpapers and rugs themed for kids have been lacking in recent packs.
I think the occasional reskin is at the very least the bare minimum. I understand some packs just don't make sense to have kid items in. But for everything else, I think it's not asking too much for 2-3 items a pack to be kid and tot specific furniture and skill items. It would be even nicer to get the occasional new item for kids and tots though. It doesn't even have to be as big as a tree house, just something different for them to play with: like a floor puzzle for toddlers to work on their mental skill, or a train track for kids imagination.
