- MidnightAura86New SpectatorI agree some of the traits I get are with little to no input from me. The easiest are well mannered, responsible and the empathy one. I find it hard to get negative traits in any of the categories.

I find hard to get negative anything on TS4. - I'm not sure we're playing the same game, lol. I have a family of 6 kids and most of the kids have at least 2 traits in the red for now, by just letting them be kids and do their own thing most of the time.
- I thins it's actually well balanced, it takes a very long time to get those traits.

the bad traits should be what you get when you don't do anything as a parent
even if it is true about working for the good traits you shouldn't have to work for the bad- I agree it is way easy to get good traits. I got 4/5 of them maxed out before my kid even became a teen. Also, I have another load for the widow challenge and she is a terrible mom. My only interaction is telling the kids to clean and yelling at them and being mean. They are good everywhere still except for empathy which is only partially red. On a side note, her parenting skill is still pretty high despite being a bad mom.
- icemanfreshSeasoned NewcomerI'd say responsibility is the easiest, because you just have to make your kids do their homework and not violate curfew (if any). I already make my kids do homework, so at least there's some purpose in doing it in TS4 apart from getting an A.
Manners is doable too if you make the kid help with chores, though this takes a while. Empathy can be boosted with the doctor playset as a kid, and through volunteering if you have spare time.
The tougher ones for me are emotional control and conflict resolution. Emotional control can be done if your sim gets in a bad mood and you let them relieve it in a productive way, but with the way the game is, sims tend to be happy A LOT. Conflict resolution is tough too, because there are barely any opportunities to raise this one. "icmnfrsh;c-16284496" wrote:

I agree, it's definitely not that easy."dopaminedroid;c-16284357" wrote:

That does seem *sort of* realistic. Children growing up in a household like that can learn to be responsible and polite and keep their emotions inside in order not to get yelled at even more, and mistreatment and lack of care like that will make it a lot harder for them to learn empathy, though they may also adopt it a bit from peers so it might not be the absolute lowest. Though whether that style of parenting to get kids to behave can count as parenting skill is debatable of course.
I am not sure how they would fix the parenting skill thing for my sim but it is something I find unimmersive. I do agree that lots of things can help parents increase their skill but my sim only tells the kid to clean up. The rest of the time, she uses the mean interactions. And she hardly is home to even be there for the kid. I intentionally am trying to make her the horrible step mom but her parenting is at like 5 right now which doesn't really make sense. And yea, I know why the kid loses empathy since he gets yelled at a lot but it isn't lost fast enough. Also, the rest of his traits are further in the green then the one in the red and I feel like that is unrealistic to. He is worse then neglected and he still will probably get 4 good traits by the time he is an adult."Elleysims;c-16284561" wrote:
