Partial packs

I think it would be a good idea if EA offered us the option of purchasing partial packs. For example, I'm not interested in the game play associated with the Eco Lifestyle pack but I would be interested in purchasing the CAS items and the Build items. Why couldn't these items be offered separately?

Honestly, I just wait for a discount and then buy a pack if I just want a specific feature or a few CAS items. Heck, there are a lot of packs I don't even know why I got it. Typically, almost every EP will be on sale for 50% off a few months after it's out; EPs 25%, and Stuff Packs don't often go on sale but are cheap anyway.

In my opinion, this is exactly NOT the thing I'd like in the game. This echoes too much of the Store model in TS3; and microtransactions as well.
  • I was thinking that we still had to buy the pack but we had options to turn off certain pack features. Like turn off vampires but still have CAS and build/buy items. Or with parenthood we could toggle ask for advice and or character values and still have the objects.

I would really just love more options. We should be able to choose if aliens and vampires etc appear depending on the story or game play we are doing. We can turn off fame for the Sims we play now but I sometimes want the celebrities gone from my game also. They need to stay in Del Sol Valley if you ask me. They just ruin my immersion into the game.

They whole partial pack idea is good over all if it's implemented correctly but I think others see it differently than I do. For one, it would not make the cost less because the partial pack idea would be implemented through game options. Each pack would have pack features along with CAS assets and Build/buy assets. So three total assets per pack in which we can toggle off and on. This is what I thought about when I read about the partial pack idea.

    More options!
It may not be able to be implemented on older packs but future packs could have more asset based options.

    I completely agree!

An On/Off switch would solve everything.
On if you want the game-play, off if you don't. Either way the stuff (clothing and items) are still available in-game.

You can disable a pack, but I think you lose the CAS items too when you do that?

It wouldn't solve the issue of cost! Why pay $40 to turn off the gameplay when stuff packs are $10?

I do that if I want some features but don't care about others but things like vampires I'd love the build stuff but am very opposed to having vampires in my game and play often with mods. So I wouldn't take the pack if ea paid Me for it. However if I could just get the build and CAS or turn them off without mods I'd love to have it

The stuff packs also add game-play. So a partial stuff pack with only the CAS items?
