I ended up using a cheat. I don't consider this cheating really since I did complete the parties. Here is where I found the cheat http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/cheats.php
If you don't want to look through all of that information: without quotes type "testingcheats on" and then "aspirations.complete_current_milestone"
It will not complete the entire aspiration, it will just move you to the next step so you can move on.
