I really doubt that the situation in America would affect a sims patch y'all. If they were cancelling it "in solidarity" they would've said that, they probably just found a bug last minute and had to fix it before releasing the patch. No worries.
Exactly. There is zero point in making a political stand without saying you're making a political stand. I personally wouldn't mind it if that were the reason, but my guess is that they found a bug that if they released the patch, would have people screaming so are taking a day to fix it. I vastly prefer that to waiting for another patch to fix this one.- To begin with, let me state if it is for either a bug fix or the blackout thing (Non US middle aged woman who doesn't frequent Instagram, Facebook etc. and is steering clear of a lot of the news at the moment due to anxiety being triggered by the current health situation) that's more than fine, the issue is the lack of a reason and the lack of communication on EA's part. I don't generally check Twitter until bed time (daughter' school etc tweet pretty frequently) so I haven't seen the tweet yet, but it's kinda off they didn't actually inform people using the official forum. It's their awful communication that is the issue, I think most people would be disappointed BUT understanding if they were more transparent.

It doesn't say anything more but I think it's been made pretty clear why the update has been delayed
Exactly. I don't think they're allowed to make an explicit political stand. I think they would actually have been more upfront if it was a bug fix. Besides, if they found a bug, they wouldn't be able to just say it would be fixed tomorrow and if it was such a tiny fix, they could have delayed the patch a couple hours instead of an entire day.
His instagram has a black/grayed picture most likely for the protest...
Look, I know the team needed to state the reason.
But what gets me is how people are being so selfish and rude about the reason.
Yes? That's what I meant. 'Most likely' being key. You still don't know. It's not a very explicit stance.- People. You're getting all worked up over a patch for a video game being delayed for one day. One day, not a month, not even a week, just a day. Some of y'all really need to get some perspective.
- MadameleeNew Rookie@Sindocat I doubt its because of that because they were able to drop both a march patch and an april patch in the two months *during* the lockdown. I doubt a game-breaking bug would be able to be fixed in one day. So its seems like the logical conclusion is Blackout Tuesday

The April patch was, in fact, late for this very reason.

I thought the "influencers" have already been playing with the new patch for a week? So it should be ready. - logionXSeasoned Hotshot

No. They were given advance copies for a few days, but there were definite bugs in them. I won't mention one because it's a big spoiler for the pack, but it was definitely, 100% broken and the only two influencers I watched ran across it. Maybe more, I don't know.
Wow, do you even know whats going on here in The US? If you don't then its best to keep comments like this to yourself. As a black woman, I have lived a life of being seen differently than those of fairer skin color and my people are tired of it. The true peaceful protestors ARE NOT, I repeat, ARE NOT for these looters, arsonists, and rioters! We want peace and we want justice and we just want to be treated equally. We are TIRED of our brothers and sisters being killed because of the skin we're born in. We are tired. So ONE FREAKING day without a patch shouldn't be so hard when we're born into this reality and deal with it our whole lives!
