Back up your saves.

Remove your mods folder.

Delete cache files: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/delete-cache-file

Turn off automatic updates/go offline in the EA App if you are not ready to update your game: https://crinrict.com/blog/2014/08/origin-turning-automatic-updates-on-off.htm

    Looks like it still won't be including the fix of sims obsessively using objects, so I'll wait until that is sorted out to play again. 

    Having to click through all the advertisements just to play the game is enough of a nuisance already.

    Thanks for the heads up. I won't be updating for a good while :D Just got the game to run pretty well and don't want it ruined again.

    I decided to play for a bit this morning. So, even though I backed up my game, prior, I made some progress and have backed it up anew. Thanks for the timely reminder, though. I've been burnt by patches too much in the past. This is my Restart, which is really a Reset save, too. That's okay, I've got a backup of that starting point, tool
