Peculiar specific social sims do

I have no clue why this is, but when sims socialize, they sometimes do this weird slap the air and laugh awkwardly at the other sim who gets overwhelmed as if the sim made a very enercetic inapropriate joke. If they do it to a sim I control, it says, "listen to question" in thr queue. Any idea what it actually could be? And these sims dont possess socially awkward traits (I have the pack with this trait). The interaction also causes a negative response which is often very annoying since you cant control it when a sim uses that weird social.

Anyone else noticed this? I consider this not a bug, but a very confusing feature of socials.

  • As of 2024 October, I can say thag the interaction has gotten worse. It happens constantly autonomously. I did make my sim a funny sim with hilarious trait now, but he does this forced loud interaction constantly. Hed even apparently spit in the other sims face during it and cause an awkward response.

  • @OllyWollyZolly , Could this be the trigger for the Embarrassed mood buff? If so, it has been in the game since the beginning and has nothing to do with the Socially Awkward trait.  All Sims would have a chance of doing this, especially if their Humor skill is low.  Increasing their humor skill should lessen the chance of this happening.

However, there is a chance that there could be a bug with this naturally occurring feature and perhaps it is happening more often, though I have not noticed it.
Are you playing on a console or are you playing on a PC or Mac?  If you are playing on a PC or Mac, do you use any Mods/CC?

I have satisfaction points spent on shameless so thats not it. One of my sims is cringe, but the others arent and they do it too. Also townies. They make an awful joke basicially constantly lowering the friendship bar by A LOT. Thats really annoying.

@OllyWollyZolly I only play on PC, so it is hard for me to say if this is something that other console players are experiencing or not.  To be honest, It might even be in my game, but since I often play at higher speeds, I don't see a lot of the finer details of animation in my Sims.  😉

At least we know that since you play on a console, it isn't a conflict with Mods! 😅  You said it has gotten worse recently.  I don't know if it is a bug or if it is intended.

They just like to sabotage themselves. Drinking excessively, needing to pee cos of it. Napping on the worst benches or surfaces when there is a bed RIGHT THERE.

They love spouting memes and mischief, insulting their loved ones. They love annoying others with knee slaps and face spitting and causing negative responses. Even cause family dynamics from Growing Together to register it as difficult or unpredictable... Like, I have autonomy off btw for selected sim, but they still queue random actions at times.

@OllyWollyZolly , I play with autonomy on, so I expect Sims to "disobey" from time to time, but I can see how frustrating it would be to have them randomly queue up actions if autonomy is off! 😯
Our Sims excessive desire to drink water over and over until they pee themselves is a very old bug.  it gets maddening at times!😣  I hope they can eventually fix it!
