- I've been saying this all day but this should be a free pack... at least the C&Ds clothes because they are releasing stuff they should have released with the EP instead of shoving it in a SP that people who don't have C&Ds will pay for. Idk maybe it's just one costume but people that won't be able to use that one costume will be paying for it anyway... Imo it's a bit unfair (and I have all the packs so I'm not complaining because it affects me specifically)
- leo3487Seasoned NewcomerYou know what Im thinking?
You know than Happy buffs than is helping other emotion are in 2 colors
Maybe artwork for this new THING is red and green - LadyKynSeasoned ScoutI don't see why anyone would buy it as it's PET STUFF. That's already a big warning label slapped on that stuff pack. Less you're really wanting a hamster and more decor and no need for the other chunk of the pack that's pet clothes and other objects.
- I wouldn't have thought the cute little hamster needs cats and dogs. Just the pet clothes would. I assume
- Yup. DLC for a DLC. How low can you go?
- LoanetRising ScoutIt's not just the disclaimer. Both Teaser and Trailer asks "Do you have Cats&Dogs?" and the trailer takes place in Brindleton Bay rather than a base game world, with some of the decor in the trailer being from C&D. There's a dog on the cover. So it's not got this blazing alarm, but face it, EA's not hiding that it's a good idea to have C&D.
Somebody's going to miss it, because somebody always does. Maybe they'll think it's a cheap version of C&D. Then they'll feel stupid and blame EA, because that's how people are. Maybe they just didn't see the trailer before seeing it in the shops.
I dunno. EA clearly doesn't want to be blamed if other people get it wrong. - I think people are forgetting or not acknowledging the fact that while, yes, it does say that you need C&D to access ALL content. The content for people that own C&D isn't that significant in the grand scheme of things. The only things that C&D owners get things relating to well...cats and dogs. Everything else, i.e. the hamster and cage, you can access without having C&D.
As business, don't you think it would have been a little bit silly if EA didn't use C&D to promote this SP? Because you can bet your bottom dollar that there will be a lot of people that don't have C&D that go out and buy this SP because they think they need it to function.
And, what if there are people that simply didn't want cats and dogs in their game? Why should they be upset if they can't access the costumes for cats and dogs?
This isn't to say that I agree with this practice at all, I'm just pointing out if you don't have C&D, didn't want it, why are people upset that those are the things that they can't access in this pack? But as many people have said, this isn't the first time this has happened in the franchise - this time, it's just more in your face and blatant. "Sonia016;c-16366217" wrote:
It does require C&D to fully utilize this new SP, there's only 2 options for us; buy C&D and this new SP or don't buy this new SP if you don't own C&D ;)
Three options: Buy only C&D, buy both, buy neither.
I have C&D but I'm not buying this SP. I'm not thrilled with this one both for the content and for the fact that it's a DLC for a DLC. I wouldn't want them to do that with any pack. What if they made SPs for City Living, Get Together or Get to Work just to fix what they didn't add originally?
I came very close to walking away from this game entirely shortly after C&D and only came back to it recently, yet here I am about to give up on it all over again. I only just bought Laundry Day when I bought Jungle Adventures and I'm still disappointed about LD when I voted for eco-friendly! I've played this game since TS1, but may not be around by the time they make TS5 especially if they pull what they did for TS3 -- sell the last EP Into the Future and then announce the upcoming TS4!!!- SimburianNew Traveler

I really am starting to dread that this really is going to turn out to be a hamster costume for a Sim.
It is going to be hamsters v bear nights.

This is a tad misleading. Not all of the features in the pack require Cats and Dogs.
You are right not all features require C&D but looking at EA Maxis strategy it may influence those that have yet to get C&D and if folks do wish or interested in the features that are not activated w/o C&D may in turn buy C&D.
